Incarnation Camp and Conference Center company history timeline

1886

Incarnation, established in 1886, is the oldest continuously operating camp in America.

1963

When the redistribution of our Mother parish, Corpus Christi, became a necessity, the Church of the Incarnation was established on September 5, 1963, in Wethersfield, Connecticut.

Having accomplished the goal of raising the funds, the ladies subsequently went about redecorating the rectory and had it ready for the pastor’s occupancy on October 2, 1963.

1964

The first Communion Class was held on May 17, 1964.

1965

The building permit for the Church of the Incarnation Rectory and Sanctuary on Prospect Street in Wethersfield, Connecticut, was granted in January 1965, with the value estimated at $641,000.

The red brick rectory was the first building to be completed in August of 1965.

1966

Archbishop Henry J. O’Brien presided at the dedication of the Church of Incarnation, Prospect Street, Wethersfield, Connecticut, on Sunday January 23, 1966.

1982

In 1982, Incarnation opened the Bushy Hill Nature Center.

1986

The cathedral's organ was built by Casavant Frères Limitée, and was installed in the building in 1986.

Hearing the community’s request for an elementary version of Steward, in January, 2021 Incarnation was excited to open the doors to its newest educational endeavor, the Steward Outdoor Day School, a program for elementary school students in grades K-8.
