Primary Responsibilities: Provide support to staff, students, and parents which will increase student achievement by using parent involvement strategies which support local school LSPI and Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) mission, vision, and goals.
1. Develop and maintain a Title I Parent Center with appropriate student learning materials for parent check-out.
a. Greet, welcome, and assist parents.
b. Manage space and operation of the Title I Parent Center.
c. Develop and maintain a Title I Parent Library.
d. Select and purchase appropriate materials for parent check-out.
e. Provide training for parents in the use of materials.
f. Assist parents with understanding Title I, federal and state requirements, school status, Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS), report cards, learning compacts, assessments, and pupil progression.
g. Provide orientation for all parents new to the school.
h. Create opportunities to involve all parents in the education of their child.
i. Coordinate academic-based learning opportunities/workshops for parents at flexible times.
j. Establish and meet regularly with a Parent Involvement Committee.
2. Support the families of the most academically at-risk students through the implementation of Parent Support Plans.
a. Maintain frequent, ongoing communication with targeted families.
b. Provide resources and workshops focused on academic interventions to families of at-risk students.
c. Utilize data to identify at-risk students and to determine effectiveness of support and interventions.
3. Assist in keeping parents informed concerning academic expectations, student learning opportunities, training, and issues related to federal and state requirements through communication.
a. Advertise all Title I parent involvement activities through a variety of media.
b. Communicate with parents via school and Parent Center newsletter and school website.
c. Serve as the liaison between the local school and the Title I Department - Parent Involvement and Flexible Learning Programs, if applicable.
d. Initiate and respond to parent telephone calls, e-mails, and written correspondence related to Parent Involvement and/or Parent Center as they relate to Title I, Part A.
e. Participate in early release conferences, assisting targeted parents with understanding grading/report cards.
4. Manage Title I record keeping responsibilities.
a. Submit all required Title I documentation to Title I Department in a timely manner.
b. Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Parent Involvement budget.
c. Monitor and maintain records required by Title I.
5. Oversee professional learning and collaboration as it relates to Title I, Part A.
a. Conduct professional learning sessions with staff to improve parent involvement as it relates to Title I, Part A.
b. Collaborate with all staff regularly to coordinate Title I meetings/workshops for parents.
c. Attend regularly scheduled meetings/professional learning offered by the Title I Department.
d. Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the school's Parental Involvement policy, plan, and budget.
6. Conduct community outreach as it relates to Title I, Part A.
a. Serve as the liaison between school and community for parent involvement purposes as it relates to Title I, Part A.
7. Perform other Title I related duties as assigned.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
* Plan, organize, and instruct coursework.
* Work with the Departmental Chairperson/Program Director to develop. Implement, and evaluate curriculum.
* Maintain updated syllabi, outcomes, and gradebooks in the College learning management system (LMS) according to the guidelines in the Instructional Handbook.
* Select textbooks and teaching materials in collaboration with colleagues as approved by the Department Chairperson/Program Director.

Job Summary
The position of Assistant Professor of History Education is a ten-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Teacher Education, Leadership, & Counseling Department in the College of Education and Health Professions. The start date for the position is January 2026.
Responsibilities
Significant Duties & Responsibilities include: Coordinating the undergraduate and graduate programs in History Education, effective teaching and advising at the graduate and undergraduate levels (face-to-face, blended, and fully online); designing, implementing, and assessing History Education programs of study; supervising student teachers, interns, and practicum students; engaging in research and scholarly activities, to include mentoring doctoral students, serving on and chairing doctoral dissertation committees; performing service to the program, department, college, and university; working closely with faculty in the Middle and Secondary Education fields as well as content faculty in the College of Letters and Sciences; and participating actively in History Education professional development and leadership activities.; The successful candidate will perform service and administrative tasks necessary to enhance program, department, college, and university goals and objectives, foster an environment of professionalism and collaboration, work in continuous improvement of educator preparation and educational research, demonstrate exceptional ability to function as part of a team with university faculty and the community of practice, and engage in practices that support the University's focus on student engagement and active learning.; The successful candidate will be a community role model who fosters an environment of professionalism, scholarship, continuous improvement in History Education program design and delivery, and collaboration with university faculty and public-school personnel. Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications include: Candidates must have an earned doctorate (ABD considered) in History Education (expertise in both middle and secondary history education preferred) or a related field from a regionally accredited institution; experience and knowledge in education as a middle and/or secondary history teacher (public, U.S. schools preferred), curriculum director, or administrator; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; a record of successful research and publication or strong evidence of potential; a demonstrated record of membership and participation in relevant professional organizations; a record of service and involvement in the profession; and the ability to use technology for synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
Preferred Qualifications

Snapology Instructors are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 2-14, although not all instructors are required to teach all age groups. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism. Role & Responsibilities:
Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions
Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs
Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs
Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required
Qualifications:
Criminal and Child Clearances must be current
2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
Education degree or teaching experience recommended, teachers, pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Weekday after-school and/or evening classes
Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
Summer camps
Special events, holiday and break workshops
This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Instructors typically work between 6-30 hours per week.
