The Division of Health, Mathematics and Sciences is accepting applications for adjunct instructors in the following areas: Fundamentals & Coaching of Multiple Sports (including but not limiting to coaching of basketball, football, golf, tennis, track & field, soccer, softball, volleyball, etc.)
We have a need for instructors to teach courses face-to-face for2023-2024 academic year. Face-to-face classes are offered both during the day (Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.) and in the evenings (starting either at 5:30 or 7 p.m.). Instructors who can teach during the day will receive priority in the application process. Instructors are contracted per course, with a minimum of 10 students. Typical class size is between 10 and 23 students.
Review of applications will begin prior to the start of each semester and continues until the positions are filled.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants must:
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field, have substantial experience in coaching and teaching a variety of sports at the collegiate or high school level, and have a strong understanding of coaching methodologies, athlete development, and sports psychology.
Interested individuals should exhibit excellent interpersonal and digital communication skills and be familiar with learning management systems (experience with Canvas is preferred).

REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge:Faculty teaching general education courses at the undergraduate level: doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
Faculty teaching associate degree courses designed for transfer to a baccalaureate degree: doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).

This position requires someone to be based out of the Western Half of the United States, time zones including Central, Mountain and Pacific.
This is a heavy traveling role **(80%+)** , and you must live within an hour of a major airport. National and potentially international travel is a specific characteristic of this position.
**What You Will Do**
+ Provide one-on-one coaching methods using the Matco Business System (MBS) including, but not limited to, proprietary software systems, sales and customer service training, product promotions, and business management skills to new franchise distributors
+ Report on the progress of our New Franchise Distributors to field management and associates at Matco headquarters in Stow, OH. Complete training playbook criteria requirements during each phase of training, including noting training exceptions
+ Provide targeted performance improvement coaching on all aspects of their business to promote success and longevity

Qualifications
Education/Credentials (South Carolina campuses):
Bachelors degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited educational institution required
Masters degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited educational institution preferred
Current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in the State in which the program is licensed
Experience
3-5 years of recent work as a nurse within the past 10 years
Previous experience in Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Medical/Surgical, Behavioral Health, or Critical Care departments
Prior undergraduate teaching experience preferred
Skills/Abilities
Strong academic and professional record
Strong active-learning skills for effective instruction

Teach/tutor in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Methodâ„¢, terminology, and teaching practices
Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
Assess students' learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions
Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes
Support the maintenance of a safe and professional learning environment
Flexible work schedule of 2-3 days per week
Qualifications:
Passion for math and working with students
Excellent interpersonal skills
Eagerness to learn and be trained
Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
Ability to balance various ongoing tasks
6 month or longer commitment
Training:
Learn the Mathnasium Method and best teaching practices through videos, printed material and shadowing instructors (30 hours)
On-going training includes learning Mathnasium material and methods to support homework
Pay is adjusted upon training completion and performance
We do not hire seasonal due to the length of training.
All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
Starting pay is $11.00 per hour, with raises upon completion of training levels. Compensation: $11.00 per hour

Franchisees are independent business people and not employed by Mathnasium. Thus, each franchisee and each franchisee center is unique and the franchisee is alone responsible for all employment matters in their center.
