The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a Recruitment and Employment Specialist in our Office of Human Resources. The Recruitment and Employment Specialist leads and supports the College's recruitment process for full-time faculty, staff, and adjunct positions. This position ensures hiring practices are compliant with collective bargaining agreements, civil service regulations, and equal employment opportunity requirements. The Specialist partners with supervisors, screening committees, and candidates throughout the search process, and coordinates onboarding activities to support a positive new hire experience. The Specialist also prepares and maintains recruitment data and reports, and models excellence in service to both internal and external customers.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
* Manages the full recruitment cycle for all full-time faculty, full-time staff, and adjunct positions, including posting, advertising, applicant communication, and screening committee coordination;
* Reviews and finalizes job postings submitted by supervisors to ensure alignment with approved s and recruitment standards;
* Confirms candidates meet the published minimum qualifications for the position before initial screening;
* Ensures compliance with hiring policies and procedures, civil service requirements, and collective bargaining agreements;
* Coordinates recruitment advertising, including placement with online platforms, job boards, and professional organizations;
* Serves as the liaison to screening committees, ensuring consistent application of search procedures and compliance with equal opportunity and affirmative action guidelines;
* Ensures completion of required pre-employment steps and documentation, including background checks and education/credential verifications;
* Facilitates the transition from recruitment to onboarding by communicating new hire details and ensuring required paperwork and benefits overview are coordinated with the HR Generalist. Partners with the HR Generalist and HR Administrative Assistant to ensure all onboarding processes and transactions are completed accurately in HRIS;
* Maintains recruitment records in compliance with College policy and procedures, state/federal regulations, and collective bargaining agreements;
* Prepares recruitment data for state, institutional, and accreditation reporting requirements;
* Monitors and evaluates recruitment strategies and recommends improvements;
* Works closely with the HR Generalist (civil service paperwork, student employment) and HR Coordinator (transaction processing) to ensure smooth hand-offs and accurate recordkeeping;
* Provides back-up support to other HR functions as needed during peak periods;
* Provides excellent customer service to candidates, supervisors, and screening committees throughout the recruitment process;
* Performs other duties related to this and assigned by the Associate Director of Human Resources for Employment and Compensation.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field and a minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in recruitment, human resources or related area; OR Associate degree in human resources, business, or related field and a minimum of three (3) years of related professional experience
* Proficiency with office productivity software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases) and the ability to learn HR information and applicant tracking systems
* Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
* Demonstrates high attention to detail and accuracy in all work
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge of employment law, civil service systems, and collective bargaining agreements
