  • Full Stack Python Developer

    Benecard Services Inc.

Job developer job in Mechanicsburg, PA

We're looking for a Full Stack Python Developer who lives at the intersection of data, scale, and speed. If you're excited about building data platforms from the ground up-not just maintaining what's already there-you'll thrive here. Our environment is AWS-native, microservice-driven, and fast-moving, and we need someone who can turn raw data into insights that matter. This isn't a button-clicking BI role. You'll architect data warehouses, reporting pipelines, and ETL frameworks that empower analytics from day one. You'll be hands-on with Python and SQL, leveraging AWS services where they make sense, and collaborating across engineering, product, and analytics to make data accessible, reliable, and impactful. If you've cut your teeth on healthcare data (FHIR, HL7, NCPDP) that's a huge plus-but what really matters is your ability to solve problems, own projects, and ship solutions in a startup-minded culture. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Build data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and reporting infrastructure from the ground up. Design and develop dynamic reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or custom Python frameworks to deliver actionable insights for business and clinical stakeholders. Develop and optimize Python-based services in a microservice architecture with Django, FastAPI, and Flask, with AWS as the backbone. Leverage AWS services (e.g., Lambda, Glue, Redshift, S3, MKS, ECS/EKS) to create scalable, cost-efficient data platforms. Partner with stakeholders to turn reporting and analytics needs into scalable solutions. Implement data quality, monitoring, and validation frameworks to ensure trustworthy insights. Contribute across the stack, but with focus on data engineering, automation, and backend systems. Collaborate with engineers and analysts in a startup-minded team where speed, ownership, and creativity matter. Optimize and maintain databases such as PostgreSQL for performance and reliability. Cloud & DevOps: Deploy, monitor, and scale applications in AWS. Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins. Test and Quality: Integrate automated tests into the development lifecycle using pytest, SoapUI, Postman or other similar tools and frameworks. Data Integration & Security: Work with FHIR/HL7 and NCPDP standards, secure authentication (OAuth2, JWT), and data compliance (HIPAA). Collaboration & Agile Development: Work closely with designers, product managers, and AI/ML engineers to bring innovative healthcare solutions to life. Maintain a positive attitude and excellent teamwork. Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Strong proficiency in Python with demonstrated full stack experience. 5+ years of experience in full-stack development. Experience designing and implementing ETL pipelines, data warehouses, and reporting solutions. Solid knowledge of SQL and database performance optimization. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and microservice patterns. Exposure to reporting/visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.). Healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, NCPDP) experience is a plus. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment where you'll be building, not just maintaining. Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for innovation in healthcare technology. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
