Full-Time Nanny & Household Steward
Jovie
Non profit job in Ladera Ranch, CA
Ladera Ranch, CA (92694)
Primary care for a 6-year-old + support with infant (7 months)
Read This First
This role is for someone who takes pride in exceptional care, order, and follow-through. Think: Mary Poppins meets cruise ship butler - warm, calm, proactive, and deeply attentive to detail.
While childcare is the heart of this role, we are very active, hands-on parents. That means there are windows of time where the children are with us - and during those times, we want someone who naturally shifts into household support mode without needing to be managed or reminded.
If you believe great care extends beyond children to the environment they live in, you'll thrive here. If you prefer strictly defined tasks or resist shifting gears, this will not be a fit.
About Our Family
We are a values-driven family of four living in Ladera Ranch.
We believe:
children thrive in calm, orderly environments
great caregivers are partners, not helpers
professionalism and warmth are not opposites
Mom is often home and actively involved. Dad works primarily outside the home. We love experiences, travel, creativity, and structure - and we run our household with intention.
We also have one small dog who believes she is part of the team.
Who You Are
You are observant, composed, and quietly excellent. You:
notice what needs to be done before being asked
take pride in neatness, organization, and systems
move fluidly between childcare and household support understand that service at a high level is proactive, not reactive bring calm authority and warmth without chaos
You don't “wait for instructions.” You look around and think:
How can I make this household run better today?
Primary Responsibilities: Childcare
Engage our 6-year-old in creative, enriching, age-appropriate play Support early learning, literacy, confidence, and independence Reading, art, music, imaginative play, and structured activities Model manners, emotional regulation, and respectful behavior
Infant Support (as needed)
Feeding, diapering, burping, soothing
Following nap routines and age-appropriate play
Working collaboratively with Mom, who often handles primary infant care
Household & Organizational Responsibilities
(A meaningful and expected part of this role)
When children are with parents or resting, responsibilities shift to household support, including:
