Compensation: $28 - $36 hourly + commission. The Contracts Section provides legal advice to County departments on a wide range of issues related to the procurement and administration of contracts for goods, services, and information technology products and the construction of and design of public works. The Contracts Section also provides general legal advice on a variety of topics to the King County Superior and District Courts, King County Elections, the Superior Court Clerk's Office, the King County Auditor's Office, the Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget (PSB), and the Treasurer's Office.
Job Duties
The wide variety of clients and issues generates a variety of responsibilities for this paralegal. Specific tasks will include, but not be limited to: processing and monitoring of a high volume of condemnation cases; filing and maintaining of the county's annual tax foreclosure case; managing the discovery for a high volume of weekly school bus infractions; tracking the progress of procurement projects, proofreading and crosschecking contract language; and the management of litigation in venues ranging from King County District Court to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals as well as various bankruptcy courts.
