Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organizations vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
Assess the patients condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patients medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

SUMMARY

Location and use of emergency equipment supplies (box and/or crash cart etc.).
Operation of whirlpool scales and glucose monitoring devices, calibration and cleaning etc.
Delivery of medications (setting up, rotating, charting, ordering, giving to patients, etc.).
Receiving drugs from pharmacy in accordance with established procedures.
Knowledge of procedures and ability to determine Advance Directive status for patients.
Collection of lab specimens and interpreting results.
IV implementation and administration.
Seizure precautions and administration of IV medication during a seizure.
Admits, discharges and transfers patients as requested.
Documentation and billing of supplies used.
Maintains effective lines of communication with attending physicians.
Assists the Director of Nursing Services to coordinate the care planning/MDS process and committee meetings as necessary.
Participates in patient screening and selection process as requested.
Assists the Director of Nursing Services in follow-up on consultant recommendations, i.e., pharmacy, dietary, etc.

Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse, Pavilion LicensedPracticalNurses are tasked with assisting in the direct daily care of patients by assessing patient needs and providing them with the appropriate treatment plan.
DESCRIPTION
Accompanies providers with patient rounding, reviews diagnostics, and carries out doctor's orders.
Intervenes and de-escalates patient behaviors, utilizing CPI interventions.
Assists with milieu management.
Communicates patient updates to families and nursing home staff.
Participates in treatment team meetings and assists with treatment plan updates.
Provides input to other ancillary personnel for weekly Medicare and Care Plan meetings.
Ensures precautions are followed during patient rounding and documents completed rounds on the patient observation record.
Ensures residents are placed on infection control precautions. Communicates to other staff, including CNA's, what kind of precautions the resident is on.
Ensures PPE is readily available and set up on the resident's door.
Charts any information pertinent to residents and do weekly and/or monthly summaries as assigned addressing any resident needs according to the care plan.
Participates in nurse rounding and reporting.
Counts controlled substances at the beginning and end of shift to ensure accuracy.
Monitors medications, equipment, etc. for expiration dates and discards appropriately if out of date.
Changes medication cards in cart weekly. Cleans cart thoroughly during change over.
Cleans and stocks medication carts at the end of each shift.
Monitors and maintains refrigerator temperature logs. Takes action when temperature is out of range.
Ensures all equipment (O2 concentrators, HHN, suction machines, etc.) is cleaned and bagged after each use.
Ensures any medical equipment not working is tagged and work order is entered.
Completes unit safety checks and identifies, eliminates, and reports any identified safety issues every shift.
Orders patient supplies and materials.
Enters patient charges every shift.
Assists with 24-hour chart checks.
Takes call rotations.
Acts as a preceptor for nursing students and orients new hires of the same discipline.
Gives input in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI).
Provides input and assistance in problem solving within nursing service.
Keeps the work station clean and assists with housekeeping duties (employee fridge, putting away supplies, etc).
Performs other job-related duties as requested
Education/Qualifications/Requirements:
Graduate of an Accredited School of LicensedPracticalNursing.
Holds a current State of GeorgiaLicense.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
20 hours of education every two (2) years by a Board approved provider in order to maintain LPN license.
Experience:
Prior experience in a long-term care facility preferred but not required.

SUMMARY
Responsible for directing nursing care for the patients, and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision should be in accordance with current federal, state, and local and regulations governing our nursing center, and as may be directed by the Administrator, the Medical Director, and/or the Director of Nursing Services to provide the appropriate care for our patients.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operation of oxygen equipment including turning off and on, changing cylinder heads, cleaning/replacing humidifier and other as necessary.
Operations of suction machine (oral) including cleaning, selection of appropriate suction catheter and storage.
Operations and use of manual respirator.
Location and use of emergency equipment supplies (box and/or crash cart etc.).
Operation of whirlpool scales and glucose monitoring devices, calibration and cleaning etc.
Delivery of medications (setting up, rotating, charting, ordering, giving to patients, etc.).
Receiving drugs from pharmacy in accordance with established procedures.
Knowledge of procedures and ability to determine Advance Directive status for patients.
Collection of lab specimens and interpreting results.
IV implementation and administration.
Seizure precautions and administration of IV medication during a seizure.
Admits, discharges and transfers patients as requested.
Documentation and billing of supplies used.
Maintains effective lines of communication with attending physicians.
Assists the Director of Nursing Services to coordinate the care planning/MDS process and committee meetings as necessary.
Participates in patient screening and selection process as requested.
Assists the Director of Nursing Services in follow-up on consultant recommendations, i.e., pharmacy, dietary, etc.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficient in using a computer, especially Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point.
Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills required
Effective and professional verbal, and written communication skills
Communicates well with other associates, patients, family members, and visitors providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude. Responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor, answers questions when appropriate in a professional manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or is a graduate of an approved LPN program.

General Duties: (not limited to but includes)

Ensure all referrals for consultation, treatment or resolution of problems are valid and applicable to the documented nursing plans.
Administer ordered medications to inmates as ordered by a licensed medical provider and approved by the medical director and document administration as required by GENESYS Health policy/procedure
Carries out nursing care plans on inmates as prescribed or directed by ALP, Physician, and/or RN
Ensure security of area and medications while administration is occurring; as well as keeping safety top priority.
Complete initial and ongoing screening on detained individuals upon admission into a correctional setting
Explain procedures and treatment protocols to patients
