A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN
As an operations technician, you spend your day working directly with customer service assistance to residential and commercial collection customers. Other duties include delivering and removing plastic carts, collecting and disposing of various items, maintaining records of services rendered. Your job is essential to the city, and you perform various setting up and removing sanitation containers from field locations for residential and commercial collection. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include operating light equipment and a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
When you are not out in the city, you generally are back at the office providing advice to others outside direct reporting relationships on specific problems or general policies. Contacts may require the consideration of different points of view to reach agreement. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in operating construction equipment and performing industrial maintenance, and you find genuine enjoyment in what you do!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN
High school diploma or equivalent
Educational Substitute: Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One (1) year of experience in related field.
Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in Solid Waste Management or related field.
TDH Vector License/Certification within 1 year of hire
First Aid/CPR Certification within 1 year of of hire
NIMS Certification within 1 year of hire

Employee is responsible for the maintenance, construction, carpentry, and plumbing repairs throughout all City owned facilities (streets, sidewalks, grounds, parks and trees) with the use of heavy equipment such as a backhoe, front end loader, dump truck and similar equipment, and assists in digging ditches, patching streets, and the overall completion of public works projects.

Position Information
We are seeking a Maintenance Worker III, under general supervision, to maintain buildings and equipment for assigned department.
Responsibilities:
* Performs maintenance and repair for facilities (building, electrical and/or HVAC) and equipment (including air compressors, vacuum pump, heating and cooling systems, greenhouse controls panels, lights, vent-a-hoods, growth chambers, and cold room); assists in preparing floors and occasionally replaces broken or missing tile
* Maintains and repairs mechanical systems such as, but not limited to, lighting, heating, air conditioning systems, electrical work, and general plumbing
* Monitors heating and cooling systems for proper function and correct temperature
* Installs new electrical and plumbing lines for new equipment
* Maintains facilities, perform demolition and construction tasks and performs minor repairs and maintenance on facility equipment. Inspects buildings for proper working order
* Performs skilled trade work including, but not limited to, painting, carpentry, plumbing, plastering, cementing and electrical work. Performs welding in heating, cutting and brazing of ferrous non-ferrous metals with acetylene electrical equipment

Responsibilities
+ Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Facility Technician Counter will be responsible for the accurate accounting and transportation and deposit of monies secured from coin operated machines. The Maintenance Technician, Electrical, conducts daily electrical maintenance execution activities, ensuring safe, quality work practices are maintained while maximizing availability of equipment across the facility. This position is located in Brownsville, TX.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Lead, Maintenance Services provides leadership and oversight for the execution of maintenance support services, including crane and rigging operations, scaffolding, fabric maintenance (paint and insulation), and rope access activities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
