What this job involves -
The Critical Environments Maintenance Technician will have a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all systems. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations) and be multi-skilled in others in order to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments.
What is your day to day?
Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and performing preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems to maintain 100% Up-time including: fire/life safety, mechanical systems such as (HVAC, chillers, CRAC, CRAH, plumbing, controls), electrical including emergency backup systems such as (lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear, power distribution, transformers), and hot water systems.
Monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and water heaters; pumps, valves, piping, and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment. Must record readings and make and adjust where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
Learn and understand the data center site in-order to manage incidents and events that put the critical systems at risk.
Work order management, including CMMS, Vendor Management, and Customer Facing Tickets.
Understanding and complying with emergency escalation procedures.
Perform additional job duties as required.
Required Qualifications
2+ years experience working in a data center/critical facility.
Experience with building systems, including: UPS systems, emergency generators, and switchgears.
Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills.
Working knowledge of computer applications including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Suite and CMMS.
Preferred Qualifications
Corrigo, MCIM / Salesforce, Zendesk or Service Now Experience.
Universal EPA 608 certification
Trained in NFPA70E
Physical Work Abilities & Work Conditions:
This position requires frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and working/extending overhead, including:
Walking large, campus-like settings.
Lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
Climbing stairs and navigating rooftops to access equipment.
Using ladders up to 30 ft and working from heights.
Ability to Climb a ladder with a 300-lb weight limit.
Must be able to work different schedules.

Assigned primarily to the South Campus and reporting to the Grounds, Landscape & Recycling Manager while under lead work direction provided by the Lead Groundsworker, the Groundsworker is a member of a team responsible for maintaining landscape and grounds areas and athletic fields of the campus as well as supporting recycling operations. This position is typically assigned to an area of campus and is responsible to maintain all fields and grounds/landscape areas including natural and artificial turf, softball/baseball infields, sand volleyball courts, and tennis courts while also ensuring ornamental plants such as groundcover, plants, hedges, shrubs, and trees are properly cared for. This includes work efforts associated with cultivating and maintaining high quality playing surfaces as well as planting, cultivating, fertilizing, trimming, raking, mowing, weeding, and irrigating grounds areas and keeping the campus free and clear of debris and collecting trash and recyclables. Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Worker II

Appointees to positions within this class shall be limited to appointments not to exceed 1000 hours (125) days in a fiscal year.
Depending on assignments:
* May perform grounds maintenance work such as picking up rubbish, raking leaves, moving and watering lawns, and pulling weeds.
* May assist maintenance and skilled trades personnel in forming building maintenance tasks.
* May perform routine unskilled, heavy manual laboring work in street maintenance such as cleaning gutters, drains, catch basins, and culverts; and repairing street surfaces by spreading, raking, or shoveling asphalt or other materials.
