Key Functions
Initiate, prepare, review, develop, track, and distribute submittals and RFIs through Procore.

Review and submit quantities to owner for approval.
Assist the Project Manager in budget analysis and cost projections.
Assist in management of all subcontractors.
Gather and submit closeout documentation.
Assist Project Manager with projections and costs to complete.

3+ years of relevant experience, preferably Civil Engineering.

POSITION SUMMARY

Zulu Pods is seeking an intern who will work with our advanced manufacturing team at our Northampton, Massachusetts location. The selected individual will help stand up our production manufacturing capabilities for our Primary and SmartPOD products. These devices are state of the art and will require implementation of advanced manufacturing practices.
We are interested in candidates who are highly motivated, have excellent interpersonal skills, and recognized leadership experience. This will be a hands-on role responsible for assembling components or operating production equipment to create high-quality finished products. We are looking for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude who are eager to learn the principles of precision machining and/or complex assembly.
Lastly, working at a start-up is dynamic and may take on many other shapes. This also means that there will be opportunities to develop this role to suit your skills and interests, even outside of manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Assembly: Read and interpret basic blueprints, work instructions, and schematic diagrams to correctly assemble mechanical or electrical components.
Machining Support: Assist in setting up, operating, and monitoring production machinery (CNC or manual mills, lathes, etc.) under the guidance of a senior Machinist.
Tool Use: Use various hand tools, power tools, and fixtures to assemble, modify, or prepare components.
Quality Control: Conduct inspections or tests to ensure products meet specifications and document results.
Prototyping: Support the development and testing of prototypes, including setting up additive manufacturing systems or preparing materials.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (engineers, designers, and quality assurance) to implement process improvements or new technologies.
Research and Development: Investigate new manufacturing techniques, materials, or tools to enhance production efficiency or product quality.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment, including equipment maintenance checks.
Documentation: Complete production logs and quality documentation accurately.

Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of application
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Vocational or Technical School certificate/degree in Machining, Manufacturing, Welding, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field is highly preferred.
Minimum Overall GPA of 3.0
Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
Math Skills: Basic shop math skills (addition, subtraction, reading measurements).
Computer Skills: Google Suite, MasterCam, Fanuc

DESCRIPTION:
The RBC Division is in search of an Application / Design Engineer to be located in our corporate office in Oxford, CT. The successful candidate will be responsible for both design and application of spherical plain bearings reporting to the SPB Product Engineering Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Work directly with RBC customers to satisfy their application needs. Support our external sales and business management personnel by making visits to customers to promote RBC's capabilities.
Convert customer requirements into bearing designs.
Derive application loading, cycles, and other operating conditions relevant to the bearing application. Based on these inputs, select or alter existing bearing designs to meet customer requirements.
Develop new bearing designs as needed
Participate in DFMEA, PFMEA events related to product / design application
When needed, develop bearing testing requirements for validation of a proposed design. Work closely with test engineers in conducting validation testing
Develop manufacturing, grinding, and assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
Understand heat treatment specifications as they relate to the bearing designs.
Work directly with our manufacturing plants to ensure the proper production of the product designed.
Work with the manufacturing division personnel to develop methods of bearing inspection.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, Mechanical Design preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
3-10 years as Mechanical Engineer or related experience.
Bearing experience is preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude
SKILLS / CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field. Mechanical Engineering preferred.
US citizenship is required.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Excellent communication skills, capability to interact with customers.
3D Modeling experience in SolidWorks (or equivalent) is desired.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs.
Travel Approximately 25%
