Responsibilities
As a Mobile Equipment Technician, you'll take ownership of diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of general construction equipment, aerial lifts, and dirt equipment. Working independently, you'll bring expertise, safety, and professionalism to every task, ensuring equipment runs at peak performance for our customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Performing advanced maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
Using diagnostic tools and technical schematics to troubleshoot complex issues
Documenting services accurately and ensuring timely completion of work orders
Ordering necessary parts from vendors with precision and accuracy
Delivering exceptional customer service, building trust and loyalty with every interaction
Qualifications What We're Looking For
5+ years of hands-on experience as a technician repairing and maintaining construction equipment (aerial equipment experience a plus)
Strong knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems with the ability to read schematics/diagrams
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and advanced repair techniques
A self-starter who thrives with minimal supervision and demonstrates teamwork in a collaborative shop environment
Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset
Ownership of appropriate tools for the trade
Valid driver's license, high school diploma (or equivalent), and ability to pass background, drug, DOT physical, and MVR checks

Job Identification
Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Responsible for identifying and repairing any malfunctioning vehicles, CMVs, equipment, or plant and ensuring the ability to safely relocate or operate them as needed.
Description
Perform skilled repair and maintenance operations using equipment such as hand and power tools, hydraulic presses and shears, and welding equipment.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
Examine parts for damage or excessive wear
Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
Inspect, test and measure completed work using devices such as hand tools and gauges to verify conformance to standards and repair requirements.
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
Assemble gear systems and align frames and gears.
Install and adjust bearings to maintain, repair, or overhaul mobile equipment with mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
Weld or solder broken parts and structural members using electric or gas welders and soldering tools.
Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent.
Record maintenance and repair information in company's fleet maintenance software.
Conduct road calls as needed for equipment, vehicles, or CMV's.
Additional Expectations
Must be able to determine and accomplish tasks, priorities, and goals with little or no supervision
Must be able to operate vehicles, mechanical devices, and equipment in a safe and effective manner
Must be able to take orders, instructions and guidance from management and supervisors
Able to work flexible hours and shifts and be reliable and punctual. The employee must also be willing and able to work long hours up to the maximum hours allowed of services permitted by DOT and state law, including but not limited to, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.
Maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations and company policy.
Physical Demands
Lift 80 pounds, including but not limited to lift chutes and other related CMV/job related items.
Able to regularly climb heights of up 13 feet on a ready-mix truck, using the truck steps and ladder, work on a truck catwalk at an elevated height, in a ready-mix truck you must step down into the truck cab.
May be required to climb ladders and catwalks that may be between 6-110 feet above the ground
Ability to climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl
Strong physical senses:

Smell
Ability to accurately identify and distinguish colors visually
Peripheral vision with the ability to observe an area horizontally and vertically while eyes are fixed on a given point

Candidates must be willing and able to undergo a pre-employment background check, MVR overview, physical/DOT and drug/alcohol testing. Ongoing compliance is required.
Proficiently read, write, and speak English.
Ability to understand and read GPS from company issued tablet.
