Job Overview:
APTIM is seeking a motivated, dynamic, and personable coastal engineer with experience in beach renourishment, inlet management studies, coastal structures, living shorelines, and coastal resiliency. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Strong quantitative skillsets to support coastal/waterfront projects, including beach nourishment and/or coastal structures.
Independently conduct engineering analyses and apply coastal engineering tools for the design and formulation of resilient coastal protection projects.
Contribute to project teams in conducting the design process for engineering projects from conceptual design to detailed final designs.
Prepare standard contract documents, such as technical specifications, engineering reports, regulatory applications, and other technical documents.
Participate in business development activities and write proposals.
Coordinate work with other coastal engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline and with support services staff.
Conduct field work including site inspections, surveys, and construction observations.
Interpret contract documents and perform contract administration.
Manage individual tasks and small projects while also working collaboratively as part of a team for larger or multi-disciplinary projects.
Independently manage multiple project schedules and deliverables
Professionally communicate with clients.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Coastal or Civil or Environmental Engineering required.
Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months. With plans to pursue Professional Engineer license.
0--4 years of relevant coastal or civil engineering experience.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
Exposure to coastal processes modeling or hydraulic software is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work with diverse data sets (CAD, GIS, coding tools).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills suited for a consulting environment.
Willingness to travel (up to 20--25%) for fieldwork and project support.
Passion for coastal and environmental engineering and interest in long-term career development in the field.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $34.00 to $43.00 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
