Work with other crafts as instructed by supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Because the shipyard is continually growing to meet the needs of its customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described. -Comply with Company, federal, state, and local safety, ethics, and environmental rules, regulations, and policies while performing duties. -Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays. -Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders in preparation for welding or cutting metal components. -Complete welds to the specified standards using appropriate equipment and materials. -Install and verify operation of high-pressure steel pipes and fittings. -Repair and replace any damaged pipe; fabricate and install metal fittings; install supports, valves, and other control equipment; bolt, clamp, or weld parts to secure in position for welding. -Use appropriate hand and power tools to properly measure, cut, assemble, weld, and install all types of pipe and/or similar tubular products. -Test installed piping systems and install other related items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications. -Set up equipment and welding parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. -Troubleshoot equipment. -Produce high-quality welds, including water-tight penetrations with a variety of materials including weld steel, stainless, and aluminum. -Work with minimal supervision. -Perform other duties as assigned. -Successfully pass in a 6G (6" pipe coupon) Stainless Steel, CUNI, & Aluminum - TIG -Successfully pass in a 6G (6" weld coupon) Carbon Steel - root and cap REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalence plus three to five years' pipe welding experience desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Requires working knowledge of equipment, work processes, and techniques used in measuring fitting and welding steel. Requires x-ray pipe welding experience with the ability to weld pipe in all positions and mirror welding. Requires knowledge of welding symbols, ship terminology, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS) standards. Must pass SMAW 6G Pipe Test to become ABS Certified. Skills: Ability to read and comprehend written, verbal, or diagram forms or plans. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and verbal instructions. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and employees. Knowledge of safe operation and use of hand and power tools. Social Service Assistant Veterans Haven Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week $15.00/Hour Schedule: Flexible scheduling, Determined on a case by case basis GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Social Service Assistant will be responsible to the Program Manager of the locality within which they are employed and work to provide a trauma-informed, safe and stimulating environment for clients. They will be expected to work within the policies and procedures of Family & Community Services and work toward the maintenance of excellent service standards and professional practices. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To assist in the efficient running of the facility and its therapeutic programming and other general duties associated. 2. While utilizing trauma-informed care, assist clients upon shelter entrance with required paperwork, continued assistance throughout their shelter stay by providing supplemental case management, and assist in communication and coordination with various agencies to secure appointments and resources. 3. Provide a level of support necessary to ensure all clients experience an improved quality of life while in our shelters. 4. Use a strength-based approach to help clients in working towards their goals of obtaining independent living. 5. Accompany clients to appointments, as needed. 6. Organize, plan and lead groups for clients in shelter to help promote positive interactions and group work (i.e. affirmation boards, book club, yoga, etc.), on a voluntary basis, when time allows. 7. Complete daily administrative duties such as answering phone, directing inbound calls, keeping office clean and organized, tracking supply lists and facility needs, completing check requests and therapeutic programming attendance of clients. 8.
