Negotiated an affiliation agreement with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for one of the largest private practice multi-specialty medical groups in New York State including opportunities for data and personnel resource sharing. Selected and supervised the installation of a new practice management system, general ledger system, laboratory information system, transcription system, and credentialing system. Currently in the process of installing the Epic Electronic Medical Record system. Expanded the medical practice group’s service locations from 9 to 26. This involved establishing new locations as well as single specialty group mergers including primary care, cardiology, urology, surgical oncology, and ENT. Successful mergers were defined by the Group having developed an administrative and compensation model based on a single specialty group BUDGET/FINANCE Reduced the days in A/R from 70 to 25, resulting in a one-time cash flow increase of $9 million. Negotiated a Primary Care contract based on global medical budgets, increasing primary care revenue on those contracts by 33 percent. In addition, negotiated a quality incentive based primary care contract (improvement of diabetic measures) resulting in a 17 percent increase in revenue. Analyzed alternative insurance markets for Workman’s Compensation and general liability, and moved group insurance offshore to an insurance captive for an average annual savings of $100,000 from the traditional insurance market. Specialties: LEGAL CLIENT RELATIONS Effected a merger between two medical groups involving complex legal business and financial matters. Identified significant sales and income tax issues and provided resolution. Drafted and negotiated physician shareholder agreements, employment contracts and non-compete agreements. Developed and amended pension plans for physicians and professional corporations.
