Pros of working at Mile High Seamless Gutters

When I installed for Mile High, it was July of 2014 I was hired and started working there. I was a seasoned 20-year installer that was well trained and highly skilled. I was also months deep in a rapidly increasing case of complete burnout. At 44 years of age and years of always being the most knowledgeable, experienced installer at any outfit I was riding for and always one of a few if any with a driver's license I had hit the wall. I wanted to step back and just work. Go to jobs, breathe in the Colorado air and not be the one that is... at many times the glue holding a few crews together. Covering ordering, scheduling, quality control, as well as dealing with customers, pleasant to outright out of line. Oh, and also doing the only position I received pay for, installing. Mitch interview was like an interrogation at times and I stayed on point and expressed to him that I needed to just be a gutter installer at this time. With my experience, I could tell he was slightly annoyed. He sat leaning way back in his obviously very expensive office chair, across his desk from me & looking at me for an uncomfortable while. He sat straight back up, gestured me to stand as did he. He extended his hand to shake mine and said "Ok, you're hired. I'll pay you starting wage that I do with all my leads when they start as a lead and not a helper's wage. You will be a floater for now, my 20-year helper". I liked the idea of floating as needed and was pleasantly surprised at all the other men in that outfit. I was the oldest but for the 1st time in years surrounded with highly skilled journeyman. I like the smooth operation, always had enough material, schedule organization, and co-workers. The money was ok, the hours were great, 7-5 unless finished before, and if a crew was struggling or any problem that was going to hinder timely completion, one crew or all of them would converge to that job as they completed assignments to help that crew. Nice teamwork. I was rejuvenated to a new level within days of starting to refresh my skills and get back in roof shape. And with the young guns I was with, I did and had to be on step to keep up and it was glorious. Kyle, Wayne, David, Armando, Nick, and Beau (RIP) I thank you. I worked there for 2 years 8 months. And 2015 was so busy we were able to work every Saturday that summer, usually not mandatory but we all treated it as it was. So an extra 2 days a pay period of overtime. It ended up the best profit year in 25 they had been in.
