Neil Kurtz

Neil has served on Medidata Solutions' board of directors since 2002. He is also currently the president, chief executive officer of Golden Living, a leading provider of long-term care. Prior to joining Golden Living, Neil was the president and CEO of TorreyPines Therapeutics Inc., a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, as well as president of Ingenix Pharmaceutical Services, a division of UHG, and a member of the UHG Executive Board. Additionally, he co-founded Worldwide Clinical Trials, a contract research organization, where he held the positions of president and chief executive officer until its acquisition by United Health Group in 1999. Neil held various senior positions with Boots Pharmaceuticals, Bayer Corporation, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Merck. He currently serves on the board of NeurogesX, a specialty pharmaceutical company. Neil has consulted more than a dozen pharmaceutical companies and served as member of the faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut and the University of California, Los Angeles. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from New York University and an M.D. from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Scott has been involved in the healthcare and real estate industries for over 30 years and is the Founder and CEO of Wingate Healthcare, a regional provider of skilled nursing and supportive care to seniors in residential settings in Massachusetts and New York State. Mr. Schuster’s involvement in healthcare has included the development, construction, operation and financing of more than 7,000 skilled nursing beds and assisted living apartments and the development of ancillary service businesses in post-acute care including institutional pharmacy, hospice care, rehab and home care. Prior to that, Mr. Schuster served as a Director of Continental Wingate Company, Inc. and was responsible for the company’s multifamily residential development portfolio that includes over 12,000 apartments. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is also a board member of the Brigham & Women’s Hospital Physicians Organization, the Care Improvement Council and the Joint Finance Committee. His former affiliations have included, Chairman of the Board Emeritus of the National Kidney Foundation of MA, RI, NH and VT, the Corporation of the New England Baptist Hospital and Trustee and Finance Chair for the Center for Blood Research. Additionally, he has served on the boards of the Massachusetts Extended Care Federation and the Massachusetts Assisted Living Facilities Association.
