The National Organization of Veterans Advocates, Inc. (NOVA) was incorporated in the District of Columbia as a not-for-profit educational membership organization in 1993.
1998 – Doctor Richard J. Ernst retired and Doctor Belle Wheelan became NOVA’s third president.
In 2000, the CAVC recognized NOVA’s work on behalf of veterans with the Hart T. Mankin Distinguished Service Award.
2002 – Doctor Belle Wheelan left NOVA to become the Secretary of Education for Virginia.
Nova Analytics Corporation was formed in March 2003, was a world leader in the multi-billion-dollar electrochemistry and water quality instrumentation market.
2003 – The Medical Education Campus (MEC) opened in Springfield in Fall 2003.
With three well-respected brands anchoring Nova Analytics’ portfolio, 2004 marked a year of integration and operational improvements.
In February 2005, Nova Analytics bought Secomam SA a spectrophotometer business in France.
In December 2006, as the result of NOVA's advocacy, Congress repealed the law that prohibited attorneys from charging a fee for representing veterans in the VA claims process.
2006 – The Arlington Center and Reston Center opened for classes.
2007 – NOVA became an Achieving the Dream College.
By 2008, Nova Technologies and its associated brands had completed over 5,000 flow measurement projects and provided equipment and services to customers in more than 40 countries.
Nova Analytics’ final acquisition occurred in December of 2009, when it purchased Norway-based Aanderaa Data Instruments AS (Aanderaa), a provider of sensors, instruments, and systems for measuring and monitoring in the most demanding environments.
2009 – Signal Hill in Sterling opened for classes.
2018 – The Extended Learning Institute (ELI) was renamed to NOVA Online.
