During this time he operated one lane, shipping to and from Scottsbluff, NE from Omaha, NE. NTC started operations October 28th, 1973 and had two straight truck, two leased tractors and two borrowed trailers.
Richard “Dick” B. Holliday Sr., acquired Nebraska Transport Company in 1973.
Brent Holliday at this point had been working for his dad since 1978 and was a major part in opening the Sidney Terminal.
In 1981, the Legislature changed the name of Division of Highway Safety and Patrol to the Nebraska State Patrol and made it a separate state agency.
The next expansion was our truckload division in 1986, which was lead by Brent Holliday, Dick’s son.
Wanting to continue the legacy of his father Brent Holliday purchased NTC in 1998 and two years later started with his first expansion with opening Oregon Trail Transportation.
History of the Interstate in Nebraska (June 2006)
In 2009, the Legislature transferred the Office of Highway Safety from the Department of Motor Vehicles to the Department of Roads.
In September 2012 our latest expansion was formed by starting NTC logistics this new business model allows us the ability to offer a full global supply chain management services.
In 2017, the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics merged with the Nebraska Department of Roads to form the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
