Wanda Lee Kalsu Oakhill Day School Founder 1947
Since 1961, the Oak Hill School has educated children based on timeless values of personal integrity, academic accomplishment, and a strong spiritual foundation.
In 1972, "Little Folks" became Oakhill Day School.
In 1987, the school expanded by adding offerings for students in grades Second and Third.
Oakhill settled in its current location at 7019 North Cherry in 1989, expanding its facilities with additional classrooms, administrative staff, expanded library, gymnasium, outdoor learning areas, and common spaces to accommodate the ever-growing student body and middle school expansion.
The school, opened in 1990, was named by the community because of the beautiful oak trees on the hill behind the school.
The Oak Hill prairie was started in 1993 with four native Minnesota grass and 10 native varieties of wildflowers.
There was also a grass root effort in 1999 to preserve the "Big Woods" adjacent to the school.
Wanda Lee Kalsu passed away November 5, 2012 at the age of 95.
