Mark has dedicated more than 15 years of his career to the renewable energy sector. As CEO of Apex Clean Energy, Mark leads the execution of corporate strategy. Since Apex’s founding, he has built a team of more than 200 professionals focused on creating customized clean energy solutions for businesses, government, utilities, and others. With Apex’s core values as a driving force, Mark has overseen the implementation of more than 2 GW of wind and solar energy facilities and the financing of an additional 1 GW. He previously served as president and COO of Apex from 2009 to 2016.Mark serves on the boards of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) and Advanced Energy Economy (AEE). From 2005 to 2009, he was a director at Horizon Wind Energy/EDPR. Prior to Horizon, Mark worked for the North American sales subsidiary of Vestas Wind Systems.Mark is a former naval officer and helicopter pilot. Mr. Pagano received a B.A. in Economics with highest distinction and a J.D. from the University of Virginia.
