Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Paramedic at our facility, you will be doing an important work for our patients and our caregivers. * You will maintain clear communication with the attending physician and licensed nurse assigned to patient about all patient care issues.

Qualifications:
* Certified/Licensed paramedic, in good standing, with the Utah State Department of Health, BEMS and/or have current registration in good standing with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), based in Columbus, Ohio, that prepares and administers standardized testing for EMTs, Advanced EMTs and Paramedics for national registration.

At the conclusion of the oral board interview, the hiring committee evaluates each applicant placing them into "Hiring Bands" based on the likelihood of success during recruit camp and in a career as a Firefighter. To make these determinations, the group considers a variety of information about the applicants, including their performance in all examination components, the information shared during their oral board interviews, their expressed level of interest or commitment, and their past work history.

Performs daily inventory of ambulances and ensures their readiness to respond to emergencies. Checks all equipment on board the ambulance and ensures it is operating properly.
Applies bandages and dressing on soft tissue injuries as needed to stop bleeding; applies pneumatic anti-shock pants on patients as per protocol to maintain profusion of patient's vital signs; lifts and carries patients from scene to ambulance according to established procedures. Job Description
The Medical Support EMT is part of FSC's outreach support team. This role is a liaison between FSC clinics, resource center staff, and patients to address same-day and/or urgent needs. It is noticeably different in scope from traditional ambulatory EMT roles but requires the skills, knowledge, and certifications of such roles. This position collaborates with shelter staff, clinic medical providers, or other medical onsite personnel, responding to emergent/acute health needs of patients residing in resource centers in Salt Lake County and communicating with FSC triage staff to review healthcare options for patients.
This role is perfect for people who:
Have experience as an EMT working with medical clinics.
Are proactive advocates, driven to fulfill service interactions with clientele.
Demonstrate relationship-building, case management, and effective communication skills.
Are driven to assist medically vulnerable populations, especially those experiencing homelessness.
Have prior experience in outreach, community health, or case management
Are comfortable working in a diverse, multi-cultural setting.
Speak Spanish (preferred, but this is not essential)
