POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Job Functions:
Inpatient Care for Acute Psychiatric and Intermediate Units.
Assist in initial intake assessments and triage interview.
Assist in counseling and orient patients to the unit procedures and policies.
Perform ward searches.
Monitor use of dangerous items.
Answer telephone calls and relay pertinent information to providers if required.
Assist in a variety of treatment modalities including but not limited to biofeedback, stress management, and group therapy.

Organize and facilitate patient groups and activities.
Escort patients safely on and off the unit, know the patient management for elopement risks; take patients out on field trips.
Monitor patient safety; be able to do physical restraint procedures such as applying manual and mechanical restraints.
Manage agitated patients; identify and report symptoms of homicidal or suicidal patient; perform line of sight one-on-one observations.
Maintain all records required on patients to include data entry and retrieval on CHCS and CIS computer systems.
Perform a range of diagnostic support duties which include but is not limited to drawing blood for lab studies; collect and label specimens; take vital signs; and assist the doctor in a variety of diagnostic examinations.
Understand the rules of confidentiality as applied to patient and health care provider during all aspects of care; instruct personnel in psychiatric patient rights.
Respond to emergency situations within area of competence and initiate appropriate action and documentation (restraint calls, fire calls, and disaster situations).
Monitor and discontinue IV fluids as directed by government supervisor if certified.
Run the outpatient front desk areas; assist patients with questions and information; offer courteous and attentive assistance.

Schedule patient appointments through the CHCS computer system. Coordinate and assist the Primary Care Provider in contacting patients who miss appointments.

Prepare and pull all outpatient records for scheduled appointments.
Perform End of Day processing in accordance with local instructions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program; or completion of an equivalent education and experience that meets the requirement of the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians
OR
Completion of education and experience as a corpsman in the United States military and proof of having completed an Armed Forces course involving neuropsychiatric nursing and an Armed Forces or civilian course from an accredited school in the care of the developmentally disabled client.
Possess a National Certification as a Psychiatric Technician from the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians.
Possess a minimum of one year of experience as a psychiatric technician within the last 2 years.
Provide two letters of recommendation written within the preceding two years from a manager, director, or direct supervisor of a Mental Health Clinic attesting to the HCW's applicable clinical skills.
Letters shall attest to the HCW's communication skills and ability to relate to patients as well as professional and other inter-personal skills among staff members and must include: name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing the recommendation.

Accountable for ensuring the provision of patientcare 24 hours a day. Accountable for assigned clinical operations, patientcare activities, coordinating patientcare delivery on a daily basis in collaboration with other members of the health care team. Establishes and enforces standards of patientcare and nursing practice pertaining to areas of responsibility. The Surgical Technologist (ST) is responsible for facilitating the surgical procedure through the assembly of instrumentation, equipment and supplies. Qualifications
Nursing Assistant Certification (NA-C) required.

Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program or equivalent documented nursing training experience.
1+ year working in a hospital environment as a CNA strongly preferred.
Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) also required (Overlake Hospital will sponsor this licensure upon hire)
Health Care Provider CPR Certification.
One-year recent experience in a health care setting involving patient contact preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology and computer familiarity is preferred.

Responsibilities Duties
Assist anesthesia providers with performing quality control checks and documenting them to comply with Joint Commission (JC) and Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (AABB) guidelines.
Assist the anesthesia provider in the operating rooms during anesthesia induction and recovery from anesthesia by anticipating the needs of the anesthesia provider based upon real time changes in hemodynamic function.
Observe patient's vitals and visual assessments for such changes in condition as labored breathing, depression, convulsions, hemorrhage, shock, and anxiety.
Remove dirty anesthesia equipment and replaces it with clean equipment in between anesthetic and surgical procedures.
Responsible for first-level maintenance on equipment such as oxygen analyzers, arterial pressure lines, electrode wires on EKG machines, and various other equipment that needs batteries.
Perform Sterilization and Sanitation Procedures.
Responsible for keeping the anesthesia supply and workroom, all operating rooms, and outside of operating rooms are areas neat and clean.
