Schedule: Shifts can begin as early as 3:30am and closing shifts can end as late as 10pm. Shifts are scheduled well in advance and are 8-12 hours in length. Typically, our teammates work 3-4 days per week and are expected to work rotated Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays! An overview of the schedule will be shared during the interview process.

What you can expect:
Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment. Our PCTs care for up to 4 patients at a time.
Technician Duties. To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.
Continuous Improvement: We are consistently looking for ways to improve processes for our patients and teammates as we aim to build the greatest health care community the world has ever seen.
Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week. You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
Team. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.
Some details about this position:
Training may take place in a nearby clinic with teammates other than your assigned home clinic.
Hours of work may vary during the training period; however, you will typically be working between 32-40 hours per week.
There is potential to float to other nearby clinics during and after your training
You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work opening shifts, closing shifts, rotated Saturdays, and holidays. The schedule is made at least 1 month in advance.
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
Must be comfortable handling blood and needles
Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, rotated Saturdays and some holidays.
Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
Health care experience is DESIRED not required: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Essential Duties
• Follow the policies and procedures of the facility governing the administering of medications to residents.
• Note and report errors in the administration of medications
• Assist in developing and implementing procedures or programs of the facility that seek to determine what medication errors are taking place, when, where, and why they occur, and how they can be prevented.
• Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, charts, reports, etc., and submit these as may be required.
• Maintain a friendly, productive, working relationship with other members of the department of nursing, attending physicians, the Medical Director, and pharmacists.
• Report any complaints or grievances made by residents to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate and cooperate with any facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate in Quality Assurance programs, the Pharmaceutical Services Committee, and any other facility committee or program that affects the medication pass and seeks to improve the performance and accuracy of the medication process.
• Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document the oral and/or topical medications that are commonly used in this facility and that may be ordered for resident use by the attending physician or the Medical Director.
• Verify that any medications brought into the facility by a newly admitted resident are examined and identified by the attending physician or the facility pharmacy or pharmacist
• Follow facility policies and procedures regarding the destroying of medications; assist in carrying out these rules under the direction of the facility pharmacist or Director of Nursing Services, including the documentation requirements.
• Follow the labeling policies and practices of the facility.
• Ensure that all medications administered are properly labeled.
• Follow facility procedures in regard to charting medications.
• Assist in documenting and removing medications that are discontinued by the attending physician.

• Follow the facility's procedures allowing residents to self-administer his or her medications.
• Be familiar with the meaning and usage of common medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms relative to the administration of medications as used by the facility, pharmacists, and physicians.

Job Description
The Patient Care Technician, after a supervised orientation, is responsible to a RN and/or another licensed professional. Position Summary
The Section Supervisor - ASCP Medical Technologist is accountable for day-to-day patient testing activities within one defined work area. Plans, coordinates, and directs testing activities to assure sufficient quantities of supplies, reagents, and qualified staff are available to meet the standards of care as appropriate for the age of the patients served in a cost effective manner. Works with the manager and director to assure compliance with all regulatory agencies. May be responsible for the overall activities of the laboratory in the absence of the Core Supervisor (Weekends, Holidays, 2nd /3rd shift).
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree that meets CLIA requirements for testing personnel required.
Experience: Minimum of three years of experience as a medical technologist in a clinical laboratory setting required. Minimum of one year of experience in assigned Clinical Lab area. Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Registered Medical Technologist (ASCP) or equivalent required. Washington State (DOH) Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist required if collecting blood.

Position Summary
