Summary: Our client, a large and growing global organization in the food manufacturing industry with approximately 5,500 employees, is seeking a Payroll Analyst to join its corporate payroll team in Denver, CO (Highlands neighborhood). The team size is approximately 5-6 employees. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for analyzing (not processing) weekly payroll for hourly employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, company policies, and accurate reporting. The Payroll Analyst will work closely with HR, Accounting, and Tax Teams. Experience using UKG Pro is strongly desired, Kronos experience is required. The organization is in the midst of implementing UKG Pro and the Payroll Analyst will be a part of this process. Duties:
Review and validate weekly payroll for hourly employees, ensuring compliance with both federal/state guidelines and company policies
Reconcile payroll tax payments and prepare timely filings for federal and state authorities
Post journal entries and support month-end close tasks such as accruals and variance analysis
Manage and resolve reconciling items through proactive coordination with internal teams
Collaborate with vendors to ensure accurate 401(k), HSA, and other third-party file submissions
Respond to and resolve employee payroll inquiries with care, clarity, and professionalism
Maintain payroll systems, assist in troubleshooting UKG, and respond to internal help tickets
Generate reports for the Department of Labor, internal bonus tracking, and audit support
Contribute to cross-training efforts and serve as a backup for Payroll Coordinator and Specialist during absences

Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this role, in Loveland, CO, is between $65,300 - $111,900. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

Generate and distribute payroll and labor cost reports for Area and OpCo leadership using ADP reporting tools.
Lead or support quarterly and year-end balancing (941/940, W-2/W-2c, SUI) and assist with historical tax cleanup and amended returns as needed.
Maintain accurate multi-state employee tax profiles (resident/nonresident, reciprocity, and local taxes).
Support Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for payroll questions within the assigned Region.
Partner with HR, Finance, and HQ Payroll to resolve payroll discrepancies.
Train OpCo timekeepers/approvers and payroll contacts on timelines, approvals, SOPs, and ADP best practices; provide refresher training after system/process changes.
Process Improvement & Consistency
Drive standardization of payroll processes across OpCos within the assigned Region.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
Support payroll system upgrades, process changes, and integrations.
Perform periodic payroll audits (timekeeping exceptions, pay code usage, garnishment setup, tax configuration, and GL mapping) and remediate findings.
Create, publish, and maintain SOPs and desk guides; ensure version control and accessibility for OpCos.
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
3-5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-entity, multi-state environment.
Well-versed in ADP WorkforceNow with the ability to fully utilize system functionality for payroll, reporting, and compliance.
Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and compliance requirements (including quarter/year-end and W-2/W-2c).
Experience supporting payroll aspects of acquisitions (entity setup, data conversion, first-live payroll) preferred.
Advanced proficiency with Excel and comfort working with data sets and reports.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to partner across HQ, Regional Leadership, and OpCo employees.
Demonstrated ability to create SOPs and train others on processes and procedures.

Summary

Coordinates and processes employment change letters related to the Time & Labor project, such as changes to pay roll frequency or pay rate.

Maintains data integrity through regular system reconciliation and by identifying systemic issues for continuous improvement.
