Internal Controls & Audit Support Execute payroll internal control processes and perform payroll audits to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. System Configuration & Payroll Integrity Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot payroll schemas, rules, wage types, payroll infotypes, personnel areas, and cost centers to ensure ongoing system accuracy and stability. Issue Resolution & Root Cause Analysis Investigate payroll discrepancies, tax variances, and system errors; perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Cross-Functional & Vendor Collaboration Collaborate with HRIS, Finance, Benefits, and external IT or payroll vendors to support payroll interfaces and implement payroll-related system updates or changes. Reporting & Data Interfaces Ensure data accuracy across payroll interfaces (SAP to ADP, Finance, and Benefits) and produce SAP payroll and tax-related reports for management and internal and external audits. PTO & Employee Support Audit and monitor PTO plans related to employee setup, changes, and terminations, and research and respond to employee payroll and tax-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Education & Qualification: High School Degree or GED. Minimum four years SAP related experience. Desirable: FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification Experience Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, technical procedures, payroll tax regulations, and governmental guidance at the federal, state, and local levels. · Ability to analyze moderately complex administrative and payroll data, including organizing, preparing, and coding payroll information, supporting payroll tax reconciliations, and preparing summary reports with a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrated accuracy in data entry and reconciliation activities, including validation of earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings. Ability to perform mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals to support payroll calculations, adjustments, and tax-related reconciliations. PC literate with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables), internet and web-based tools, and SAP payroll modules; experience reviewing payroll and tax data within SAP or downstream vendor systems preferred. Audit payroll clerks monthly/biweekly payroll run and ensure calculations for payroll processing. Work under moderate supervision to ensure accurate and timely preparation of payroll records according to prescribed procedures and regulations. Prerequisites: * High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills: * Knowledge of basic payroll accounting principle and procedures * Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records * Must be detail oriented * Ability to use software to create spreadsheets, databases and word processing * Proficient in keyboarding and file maintenance; 10-key calculator by touch * Ability to work with numbers in accurate and rapid manner to meet established deadlines * Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills experienced in payroll timekeeping systems Prerequisites: * Three years of payroll processing and/or accounting Major Responsibilities and Duties: 1.Prepare accurate district payroll for distribution to employees following established procedures. 2.Receive and audit time sheets for all district employees. Calculate employee wages, salaries, hours worked, overtime pay, and determine withholdings, deductions, and net pay. 3.Balance and audit payroll earnings and deductions. 4.Process manual payroll adjustments as needed to ensure the correct accounts are being used as per approved budget. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required including maintaining payroll and related files such as payroll records, absent-from-duty reports, and service records. 5.Prepare and submit payroll reports and forms including those required by Internal Revenue Service, Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Retirement System, Federal Insurance Contributors' Act (FICA), Medicare, Texas New Hire Reporting, and Workers' Compensation Commission. 6.Work cooperatively with human resource department, principals, department heads, campus and department secretaries, and employees to ensure accuracy of information reported. Resolve payroll problems and inquiries. 7.Assist with enrollment of new employees and managing the Time Tracking and Time off System on Skyward as needed. 8.Reconcile Federal Tax Payments monthly and complete Form 941 on quarterly basis. 9.Track and Reconcile Payroll liabilities monthly. 10.Submit Current Employment Statistics report by the 25th of the month. 11.Cross train clerical staff as deemed necessary by supervisor. 12.Maintain confidentiality of information. 13.All other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
