Compiles information and responds to unemployment claims in conjunction with human resources. Provides information for monitoring employee benefits as needed. Completes employment verifications as requested by outside multiple sources. Maintains strict confidential records with sensitive information including but not limited to personnel records and wage garnishments. Works to ensure faculty contract dates and pay dates accurately reflect working days for benefit and payroll purposes. Works with CHRO to compile and distribute various communications to employees in relation to payroll issues, requirements, and policies and procedures, etc. Works with Benefits Manager to create annual census data report for compliance. Create and send monthly employee contribution report to Office of Advancement. Other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Maintains the strictest level of confidence within the department, ensuring that the individual payroll amounts of each individual employee remain private and confidential. Copies and distributes all applicable payroll reports. Files and maintains all departmental timesaver reports. Posts information pertaining to hours worked, deductions, paid time off, benefits, gratuities and direct deposits into the computer in a timely, accurate manner. Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced in payroll. Handles limited banking functions pertaining to payroll and is responsible for all manual check copies and employee lists. Compiles statistical data for reporting purposes. Inputs all voided checks. Reviews and processes all incoming paperwork. Assists Payroll Supervisor in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax returns and W-2 forms. Conducts the necessary research to effectively resolve payroll disputes from Employees. Calculates and verifies payroll adjustments. Maintains all files in the payroll department. Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property by attending regularly scheduled meetings with all employees under his/her span of control. Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental records and reports. This position requires a Level 4 Gaming License. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Some analytical ability is required in order to summarize data for reports and find solutions to various administrative problems. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to prepare and interpret graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
