We are looking for a strong assisted living/memory care Registered Nurse with documented leadership experience in the assisted living/memory care space to serve in this rare regional nursing role supporting our Oregon communities.

In this job, every day you will…
1. You would be responsible for the development and implementation of training programs for staff in the assisted living environment meeting state and federal requirements as well as company policies and procedures.
2. Assist and train Health Services Directors in attaining the skills needed to meet the care needs of the residents, fostering a non-clinical, resident-centered approach to the planning and delivery of services, and supporting residents' rights to participate in decision-making.
3. Provide training to the health services directors on the company assessment tool and the development of care plans assessing the health, functional and psychosocial status of each resident.
4. Communicate and train staff on corporate protocols and participates in policy and procedural development.
5. Audit nursing records and chart notes periodically or no less than two times each year at each community.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all rules and regulations pertaining to resident care in each assigned state and responsible for keeping informed of industry and health care trends and standards, applying new knowledge to meet the changing needs of residents.
7. Participate in the marketing efforts of the management team by representing the residence in a positive manner to outside agencies and participating in residence social functions.
8. Participate in trouble-shooting with Executive Directors and Health Services Directors and keeps the Senior Regional Support Nurse and Chief Clinical Officer up to date on field activities and developments
Education & Experience you need to qualify:
Must have a current, unencumbered RN license. Excellent written and oral communication and motivational skills. Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management situations. Individual must be a team player, well organized, and flexible.
Registered Nurse consulting experience for multiple assisted living/memory care facilities, with a minimum of 3 years working in geriatric nursing, including experience with medication administration, delivery systems and pharmacies.
Two years in supervisory/management position, with experience with budgets, staff development and training.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of a student that is selected for the Marquis Companies Nursing Assistant Training Course is to acquire the knowledge, skills and certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by successfully completing the entire course. This class prepares you to take the State of Oregon CNA certification exam approximately 2 to 4 weeks after course completion.
For consideration into our training course, you begin by submitting an application electronically. If your application is selected for an interview, it will be determined after the interview if you are accepted into the Marquis Companies Nursing Assistant Training Course.
For enrollment into this course, you must also be able to provide legal documentation establishing your identity and eligibility to be legally employed in the United States; pass a criminal background check; pass employment reference checks; and be at least 17 years of age. Fingerprints will also be required prior to beginning the training course by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN).
This fast-paced program consists of classroom instructions, lab setting simulations and clinical practice with residents/patients in the facility. Each class will be in session Monday through Friday for approximately for (3) weeks. Please see below for specific class dates and their respective classroom hours/clinical rotations
We have sponsorship spots in the December 1st to December 19th class and January 5th to January 23rd 2026 class. Class is M-F, 7:00am to 3:30pm for 3 weeks.
Qualifications
To be successful in our training course, we have expectations that our students will:
* Be professional, attentive and ready to participate
* 2 - 3 hours of studying per night
* Ability to lift forty (40) pounds
* Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
* Ability to read, write and understand/comprehend English
If you successfully pass quizzes, the final exam and other evaluations, you will be eligible for graduation from our course and to take the State of Oregon CNA Exam.
Employment opportunities as a CNA may also be available within any of the thirteen (13) Marquis Long-Term Care facilities in the Portland Metro area or the Marquis At Home agency. Job Summary
The NA Instructor will provide instruction within the Nursing Assistant Program at Avamere. The instructor must be current and competent in the Nursing Assistant Scope of Practice and core curriculum objectives included in all courses. The position requires a high level of organizational skills. The NA Instructor is responsible for instructing courses and correlating laboratory exercises for each course they teach. The instructor's responsibilities include clinical instruction and evaluation. Excellent communication skills are essential. The incumbent must be able to motivate and inspire students. The NA Instructor ensures that course and clinical laboratory exercises meet course objectives, for each course they teach.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
Responsible for screening, interviewing and placement of students in each cohort. Cohorts include 65 hours of classroom/Lab and 40 hours of Clinical.
Accountable for the classroom, laboratory and clinical practicum.
Implement the required Board-approved curriculum.
Is onsite and available during 100% of the clinical teaching time.
Provide effective teaching strategies in an environment that encourage student and instructor interaction.
Accurately records students' daily attendance.
Follows and enforces Student Guidelines.
Evaluate the competency of students.
Maintains classroom in good physical order, helps to manage program supplies and keep equipment in good repair.
Enter the classroom at designated time with all necessary materials. Begins and ends class at scheduled times and follows scheduled student break times.
May delegate classroom, laboratory and clinical teaching responsibilities to a Delegated Instructor and/or a clinical teaching associate if directed to do so by the NA Program Director.

Responsibilities
Check each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes
Review patient care plans daily to determine if changes in the resident's daily care routine have been made on the care plan
Inform the nurse supervisor of any changes in the resident's condition so that appropriate information can be entered on the resident's care plan
Assist resident's with daily needs, including preparation for activity and social programs, and transporting residents to/from appointments
Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and foster a calm and cheerful environment
Ensure residents' rooms are ready for receiving and help residents feel comfortable
Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
Effectively communicate necessary resident information to charge nurses, director of nursing, and/or administrator
Qualifications
Active CNA license in Oregon
Passion for working with seniors in a skilled nursing setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A caring and patient-centered approach to care
Must speak, read, and write English fluently
Must have an active CPR/BLS certification
