Job Description Thomas Sumter Academy seeks a full-time High School Math Teacher. Our ideal candidate enjoys working with students across a wide range of abilities and interests and are committed to their own professional growth. We seek a teacher who can instill in our students an appreciation of math both for its own sake and as an interdisciplinary problem solving tool. Responsibilities Support the mission of The Thomas Sumter Academy Provide guidance, instruction, and support, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs Design innovative, engaging, and differentiated high school math lessons Plan assignments and curriculum in collaboration with math teachers and other departments Work one-on-one with students daily for support and enrichment Implement school policies and procedures Qualifications Teaching experience with Gr. 9-12 - Geometry, Algebra 2, and Stats Probability and Stats Strong classroom management skills Excellent instructional delivery Bachelor's degree State licensure (preferred but not required) Interest in collaborating with others. Experience using smart boards/Promethean boards and other classroom technology. References will need to be provided upon request. Additional Information Competitive salary is based on experience, educational degree, and teaching assignment load. Extra-curricular duties may be required of the candidate.
