Product management director job in Fresno, CA
Director of Strategic Finance & Analytics Department: Finance Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Employment Type: Full-time Travel Requirement: Quarterly in-person leadership summits, field visits (at least two annually), and general ad-hoc travel
Position Overview
As Director of Strategic Finance, you will be a key partner to the CFO in driving financial rigor, data analysis, and operational performance improvement. If M&A opportunities arise, deal evaluation, diligence, and execution would become part of this role. You'll build and own the company's financial modeling, analysis, forecasting, and decision-support frameworks, translating data into insight that drives accountability, efficiency, and enterprise value creation.
This is not a FP&A role. It sits at the intersection of finance, operations, technology, sales, and strategy - focusing on forward-looking analysis, capital allocation, and the systems that guide how we scale. You will serve as the operating and analytical right hand to the CFO.
The ideal candidate combines technical modeling excellence with business judgment and thrives in fast-moving, data-informed environments. This is an opportunity to directly influence capital allocation and outcomes at a tech-enabled healthcare services company undergoing rapid growth and transformation.
Key Responsibilities
* Financial Modeling & Forecasting - Build and maintain dynamic, driver-based financial models (P&L, cash flow, headcount, and scenario planning). Develop a rolling forecast and standardized reporting cadence that links operating performance to financial outcomes.
* Data Coordination - Collaborate with MedZed's Data team to pull and analyze key metrics rapidly and consistently with an eye towards automation. Partner with Data team (Technology) to define data structures, automate reporting, and provide input in the build of a data dictionary.
* Performance Management & Operating Rigor - Partner with functional leads to establish KPIs, analyze variances, and identify actionable insights that improve execution (i.e., growth and margin). Translate complex financial analysis into operational levers for improvement.
* Strategic Analysis & Resource Allocation - Evaluate investment cases, market expansion opportunities, and cost initiatives. Help shape where and how capital is deployed to maximize ROI.
* M&A & Corporate Development - Periodically, partner with the CEO and CFO to evaluate acquisitions and strategic partnerships. Co-lead diligence, financial underwriting, valuation modeling, and deal execution, ensuring clear economic rationale and post-close integration readiness.
* Cross-Functional Partnership - Collaborate with Accounting, Data (Technology), Operations, and Human Resources to strengthen forecast accuracy, operational rigor, and accountability. Serve as a thought partner to leadership in decision-making and planning.
* Special Project Leadership - Partner with CEO and broader executive team on an ad-hoc basis to oversee cross-functional, opportunistic, strategic initiatives from development through successful execution.
* Materials Creation - Serve as a partner to leadership team in the ideation, development, and presentation of materials and analyses to facilitate key discussions with internal and external constituents.
Qualifications
* 4-6 years in investment banking, private equity, hedge fund, consulting, or strategic finance / FP&A in a high-growth environment.
* Exceptional modeling and analytical skills; deep Excel fluency and comfort integrating data from Intacct, Salesforce, HRIS, and BI tools.
* Proven ability to turn analysis into action, driving measurable performance improvement and financial discipline.
* Excellent written and verbale communication, including presentation skills, and executive presence; adept at influencing without authority.
* Operational mindset and curiosity.
* Self-directed, detail-oriented, and thrive in ambiguous, scaling environments.
* Experience in healthcare services, tech-enabled operations, and/or multi-market businesses.
