Job Responsibilities:

Primary Duties:
Performs CAT Scan Radiology studies. Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns. CT experience or completion of a certified CT program.
ARRT or NMTCB license with required paperwork to perform diagnostic CTs on file with the state.
Basic Life Support (BLS).
Associate's degree preferred.

About this Job:

Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
As a CT Technologist, you will operate diagnostic equipment to produce computerized axial tomographic scan (CT) images of internal organs for use by professional personnel. Explains process to patients and interviews for medical history. Instructs and assists patients in assuming positions for proper scan, and administers contrast media (I.V., oral, rectal and P.O.) according to protocols.

Primary Duties:
Prepares patients for scan. Reviews patient records for orders, exam history, lab work, and allergies, and positions patients on the scan table. Establishes I.V. site for contrast infusion and administers oral, rectal and I.V. contrasts. Consults with Radiologist prior to administering I.V. contrast for bolus I.V. injections. Monitors patients during injection for evidence of contrast reaction.
Enters patient and exam data into x-ray computer system and performs computed scan images. Prepares reports and maintains records of service rendered, using the radiology department computer system to verify billing and quality assurance. Completes incident reports and anesthesia records when necessary. Reports all technical problems to the supervisor or senior technologist.
Assists Radiologist with interventional procedures such as biopsies and drainages. Informs Radiologist of scan results when anomalies or abnormalities are visible. Schedules patient exams and revises daily schedules to accommodate emergency exams from MedSTAR, ER, and other units.
Cleans and maintains an aseptic working environment for each patient. Films CT scan images and archive exams onto tape or optical disk. Ensures adequate supplies are available and is responsible for replenishing supply levels.
Assists in the training and orientation of new employees and students. Completes all required information system functions to assure proper patient information, billing, exam, and other necessary functions are correctly entered and maintained.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or one to three years formal training in Radiologic Technology.
Completed competency-based training in CT.
1-2 years job related experience.
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) registration.

POSITION SUMMARY
Conducts a variety of radiographic examinations for use by a physician in the diagnosis and treatment of patient conditions. Obtains patient history, explains procedures, and addresses patient concerns. Requires ARRT Radiography registration and Maryland State License as a Radiologic Technologist.

JOB SUMMARY
The Radiology Tech II, working under the supervision of the Radiology Director and the Staff Radiologist, performs radiological imaging examinations of patients using both stationary and mobile radiographic equipment. The Tech II positions patient as needed to obtain optimal images and prevent patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Develops exposed X-ray film, ensures proper film identification on all images, and creates x-ray CD copies. Files films, maintains medical records, and performs other related administrative duties. The Technologist III is distinguished by their certification in one or more additional imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, Mammography). Requires an associate degree in a related area, state licensure, and ARRT certification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Obtains and documents relevant medical history prior to performing examinations.
Maintains certifications and demonstrates proficiency in one additional ARRT-recognized modalities.

Responsibilities
Counsels patients on radiographic examinations.
Lifts and correctly positions patients onto examination tables in order to achieve desired radiographic results.
Determines proper technical factors such as voltage, current, exposure time, and focal distance based on patient size, physical condition and suspected pathology.
Adjusts lead shields to protect unaffected parts of the patient's anatomy.
Selects and loads proper film. Positions X-ray equipment at correct distance and operates equipment according to specific diagnostic procedures.
Operates portable X-ray equipment and uses special equipment such as tomography.
Verifies all patient films, examination requisitions and records are properly completed.
Processes film, reloads cassettes and reviews developed film for quality.
Checks equipment and accessories to ensure proper operation. Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
Transports patients as required.
Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner. Regularly checks to ensure adequate diagnostic supplies are available.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; Associate's degree in radiologic technology is preferred.
At least two years of experience as a Radiation Technologist.
Certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist by the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance is required.
Certification from ARRT required.
AHA BLS CPR certification required.

The X Ray Limited Scope & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x-ray, medical, and testing procedures under direct supervision of the treating clinician as well as supports in other areas of the facility as needed including registration and referral management. This position will also perform routine X-ray examinations in accordance with Concentra policies, practices, and procedures and applicable regulations. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one-on-one patient care while thriving in a fast-paced environment. Also will ensure that every patient is treated with quality clinical care and receives an excellent patient experience from welcoming, respectful, and skillful colleagues.
Responsibilities
X-ray Technician Duties
Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escort patients to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during the x-ray exam
Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination. Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety
Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members
Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to Center Operations Director
Ensure all Radiology workflows are followed and all Radiology reports cross correctly to EMR
Follows documentation procedures and completes required documentation related to patient x-ray visit.
Maintain all x-ray equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures
Medical Support Specialist Duties
Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and any required or requested ancillary testing including but not limited to vaccines and injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing and respirator fit testing
Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.)
Assist providers during examination and treatment
Responsible for performing routine medical procedures as ordered by treating clinician as well as triaging emergent patients as needed
Prepare and assist clinician with procedure set up and injury care
Apply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered by the treating clinician
Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician in accordance with state regulations
Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used in the center
Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms
Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures
Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expected
In partnership with center leadership, assist with patient flow and volume
Keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit
Responsible for clerical tasks in both the front and back office associated with patient care and proper record keeping
Ensure accuracy in documentation
Perform front office duties: greet patients, obtain authorization, check in/out, communicate wait times, answer multi-line telephone system, and distribute employer results/paperwork as needed
Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
Attend center staff meetings or huddles as required
Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility
Complete any applicable training including but not limited to clinical competency training that occurs monthly.
