Technical Support Engineer at Merge
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to our customers and prospects, including troubleshooting technical issues and assisting with integrating Merge into our customers' products. You'll work closely with engineering and platform teams to debug issues, squash bugs, and prioritize customer requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with experience with APIs, excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills. Your work as a Technical Support Engineer will be of high value and have a direct impact on the bottom line of Merge's product offerings to our customers, with increased levels of internal and external visibility.
What you will do:
Provide top-tier support to customers via online chat, email, Slack/Teams and screen-share meetings.
Troubleshoot technical issues and drive creative solutions to customers in a timely manner.
Contribute to establishing and maintaining the integration of Merge into our customers' product
Partner with Engineering, Product and Customer Success teams to resolve incidents and advocate for feature requests.
Create and maintain help center guides, runbooks, and internal notes to strengthen our knowledge base.
Help lay the foundation for a successful and rapidly growing support engineering team!
Take part in an overnight on-call rotation for critical incidents about once every six weeks.
The ideal candidate will have
3+ years of experience in technical support, customer facing engineering, or solutions engineering roles.
Computer science background or other technical/quantitative orientation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong work ethic, a customer-first mindset, goal-oriented approach, and great attention to detail
Strong problem-solving skills; experience with scripting for debugging and one-off analyses is a plus.
Prior startup experience is a plus
Compensation
The cash compensation range for this role is $110,000 - $134,000
Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, and certifications. In addition to cash compensation, all full time employees receive an equity compensation package.

About the Role
As an IT Support Engineer at GlossGenius, you will balance tactical problem-solving with strategic thinking to ensure our employees have the tools they need to succeed. Your primary focus will be delivering excellent customer service to our employees while providing hardware and software support and building strong customer relationships. You will be instrumental in identifying and implementing technology solutions to meet the needs of the business and will be responsible for identifying operational efficiencies and maintaining thorough, up-to-date, documentation for IT processes and employee facing resources. You must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency around solving our employees' technological challenges.
You will report to the IT Manager. You must be commutable to our NYC headquarters. We default to being in-office 3-4 days per week with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What You'll Do
Deliver top-tier customer service by efficiently resolving hardware and software issues based on existing IT and Security processes
Manage the full employee lifecycle, including equipment deployment, account creation, and software management for both onboarding and offboarding
Provide user support for issues through our full suite of technology: Apple hardware and software, Google Workspace, and a large portfolio of SaaS applications
Field access requests and maintain proper access to internal tools and resources through time
Maintain and support conference room equipment to ensure seamless collaboration across our hybrid work environment
Drive greater efficiency for our hybrid team through evaluating and implementing new tooling, as well as optimizing the use of existing systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities where AI can enhance employee productivity and the overall digital workplace experience
Serve in an on-call capacity and assist in production issues when necessary
What We're Looking For
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT support role, with at least 1 year in an in-person environment
Proven experience with Mac OS and Google Workspace, including troubleshooting common issues
Solid understanding of IT fundamentals and data security practices, with a security first mindset
Familiarity or proficiency with AI tools and concepts for enhancing productivity and digital workplace experiences
Experience installing and supporting conferencing equipment
Proficiency in a command line environment such as bash or zsh
Experience maintaining or managing users and applications in Okta or other IAM Platforms and experience administering Jira is preferred
MDM experience with Jamf, Kandji or other Mac-focused MDMs is a plus
Some scripting or programming experience is a plus

The starting base salary for this role in New York is between $95,000 - $115,000+ target equity + benefits. The base salary offered is dependent upon many factors including skills, experience, location, and education. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in GlossGenius's equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within our total rewards offering.
