GAI Consultants is seeking a Substation and/or Protection & Controls Engineer 3 for substation-related work. This position will perform substation and protection and controls design, technical guidance/training/mentoring of staff, design reviews, QA/QC review, and enforcement related to all aspects of protection & controls design services. The successful candidate will work on various substation and/or protection and control engineering projects including detailed design for high voltage substation projects through 500kV, with a focus on a "Client First" approach to all interactions.
Job Duties:
Manage, design, and perform QA/QC checks related to technical activities including, but not limited to, the following:
Development of and/or revisions to existing drawings for one-lines, physical arrangement, grounding, schematics and wiring, control and relaying panels and equipment wiring including coordinating with CAD operators to develop organized quality CAD drawings.
Integrate protection and control drawings to interface with the physical layout and design of substations.
Design of interfacing with SCADA systems and communications including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs.
Development of control and relay panel layouts including assembling the specifications.
Creation of project criteria.
Development of design specifications including the overall bill of materials.
Design and sizing of auxiliary systems including AC/DC load centers as well as batteries and chargers.
Design and sizing of conduit, cable, and backup generators.
Ordering long-lead item materials.
Point to Point checks.
Review junior engineer's designs, verify they meet client standards and specifications, and identify gaps in client's protection.
Document QAQC reviews, maintain record documents, and communicate information to the team.
Traveling to other offices and meeting with clients and attending project-specific meetings on a regular basis.
Managing tasks on multiple projects in accordance with GAI's high standards of project management.
Managing and assisting with the development of the scope of services and cost estimates for Substation and P&C projects.

Job Description
As a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of data-driven solutions that enable effective decision-making within the organization. The Data Engineer III will design, develop, and support solutions to transport, store, and analyze data for our Unified Data Platform and multiple On-Prem data marts using Azure, Azure Databricks, and On Premises SQL Server extracting data from our source systems.
Analyze, design, architect, develop and test software systems that simulate business processes and can be used to optimize and increase their efficiency, using various computer languages and Windows based platforms.
Gather customer requirements and create high-level component level architecture and confer with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, oversee specific input, and output requirements.
Format reports, write detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
Review computer system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
Serve as key member in evolving and maturing our enterprise data strategy and capabilities at Press Ganey.
Technical Skills:
2+ years experience with Azure data technologies (Databricks, Data Factory, Stream Analytics, Data Lake Storage, Synapse), on-premises Microsoft tools (SQL DB and SSIS)
1+ years experience with SQL, Python, PySpark. Experience in Apache Spark
1+ years experience with C#, PowerShell, and APIs
2+ years experience with analytical solutions in relational databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, and DB2. Experience with NoSQL databases and solutions such as data lakes, document-oriented databases, and graph databases a plus
Experience in data modeling
Experience with Azure DevOps and GitLab
Proficient in creating CI/CD pipelines to track version changes, branch deployment
Proficient in integrating automatic unit tests into CI/CD process
Experience with developing automated job schedules using tools such as Tidal
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
Minimum of 3 years Data Engineering experience in an enterprise environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $ 81,000 to $120,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
