Summary:
The FEA Engineer will support the design, development and prototyping of new RV mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. This role is a key contributor within the US Innovation team, collaborating cross-functionally to identify opportunities for design improvements. You'll work on project that move from conceptualization through prototyping and into production launch, helping to shape the future of RV Products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Work within the US Innovation design team on evaluating designs created through their structural performance, while weighing part weight and cost at all stages of the product development lifecycle.
* Develop, set up, and execute FEA simulations for components, chassis, body structures, interior assemblies, and other systems.
* Create standardized test procedures for product designs that align with the simulations run on those parts.
* Reference to and create internal testing and validation procedure for simulation and lab testing based on, but not limited to: regulatory standards, safety standards, and best practices.
* Correlate simulation results with physical test data to validate models and refine accuracy.
* Present findings, assumptions, and recommendations to cross-functional engineering teams and leadership.
* Support design reviews, DFMA, and continuous improvement activities.
* Self-directing workload and leading an agile team
* Prepare clear and comprehensive simulation reports, including methodology, assumptions, and conclusions.
* Design of fixtures or jigs to aid in the physical testing and validation process.
* Research and identification of appropriate material types to be used in the product or process being developed.
* Supporting other engineers in the team in identifying opportunities for improvement in design.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* Master's degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on Structural Mechanics required.
* 3-5 years of product design and FEA validation experience required.
* Proficiency and demonstratable experience in the simulation types listed above and how it pertains to product and equipment design.
* Must have proficiency in Mechanical system design, and mechanical engineering drawing creation, MS Office, MS Visio, SolidWorks and 2D AutoCAD.
* Experience in leading teams during new product or process design implementation is a must.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Lead - Physical Plant Services, the Engineer 5th Class is responsible for monitoring and maintaining building and medical related systems and associated equipment in a 5th class plant.
The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.
Experience
Minimum two (2) years' experience working in a maintenance position.
Previous experience working with electrical, carpentry, plumbing, heating, or air-conditioning.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Power Engineering - 5th Class Certificate as recognized by the Province of Manitoba.
Other suitable combinations of education and experience may be considered.
