NATURE OF WORK
This classification involves civil engineering work on assigned projects and programs for the City. An employee in this position designs and arranges permits for various engineering projects for the City and Utilities' service areas; reviews drawings; issues specifications; performs calculations;; and maintains/installs electrical equipment throughout the City. This position also evaluates results and initiates reports.

Annual Leave:
Annual leave may be taken as earned. Maximum accumulation each fiscal year is 360 hours. At time of resignation or retirement, employee is paid for all annual leave accrued at their current rate of pay. Annual leave is accrued based on continuous, full-time service with the City, as follows:

Annual Leave Cash Out:
Employee can opt to receive a non-pensionable cash payment twice per year for up to forty (40) hours of annual leave, provided accrued annual leave bank does not fall below eighty (80) hours.
Floating Holidays:
Upon completion of (26) weeks of full-time employment with the City, employee shall be entitled to utilize up to five (5) floating holidays per fiscal year. Floating holidays shall not carry over to the next fiscal year.
Perfect Attendance:
For every six (6) months period (April 1 - September 30) and (October 1 - March 31) in which, no sick or unpaid leave is utilized, an employee shall receive ten (10) hours of annual leave credited. Employees who qualify for a consecutive Perfect Attendance benefit shall receive (14) hours of annual leave credited for each consecutive earning period.
Sick Leave:
Each employee earns (96) hours (12 days) of sick leave annually with no waiting period for use and maximum accrual of 1,440 hours. Upon separation of City employment due to resignation, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of twenty- five percent (25%) of the employee's current rate of pay at time of resignation. Upon separation of employment due to retirement, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the employee's current rate of pay at the time of retirement.
Sick Leave Conversion:
After completion of one (1) year of continuous, full-time employment with the City, an employee may convert their unused portion of their first six (6) days (maximum of forty- eight (48) hours) of accrued sick leave into annual leave. Conversions are subject to the following: A minimum of 96 unused sick leave hours accrued prior to hours being converted, total eligible sick leave hours to be converted shall be reduced hour-for-hour by any sick leave hours utilized during the eligible benefit period, and conversion subject to annual leave accrual cap.
Bereavement Leave:
Qualifying City-paid Bereavement Leave as follows:

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Receive directions from engineering management on daily assignments or projects.
Operation and testing of the life safety equipment, fire panel, emergency generator, fire pump, BMS, lighting systems, kitchen hood system and exhaust fans.
Perform maintenance and repairs.
Perform daily inspection walks and utility readings.

Complete appropriate documents and logs for work assigned daily.

POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Moss' Engineering Lead works in concert with the Engineering Manager, Internal Closing Team, and Subject Matter Experts to successfully design a solar project. Project Engineering Leads are expected to co-manage Project Engineers in daily coordination with and between Operation Teams and the EORs through the design process.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Familiar with utility-scale solar project designs, including single-line drawings, civil, structural, electrical site plans, DC and AC wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts
Understand the construction applications of solar power plant design, including PV string sizing, DC and AC conductor and conduit sizing, and racking/tracker design and powering
Possess a knowledge of electrical and system studies required for plant designs
Possess a general knowledge of civil designs, including road design, plant grading design, drainage design, and permitting coordination
Comfortable traveling cross-country to perform site visits and provide technical support to construction teams
Have experience with substation design review and coordination at medium voltages (usually 34.5 kV) to the point of interconnect
Organizing and drafting engineering-related RFI's and handling high-level problem-solving in coordination with pre-construction and operational counterparts
Have direct and relevant experience with the latest solar and battery storage equipment, including solar panels, inverters/transformers, racking systems, and battery systems
General knowledge of solar plant SCADA requirements and design
Ability to develop, review, and approve engineering scope of work documents for external engineering partners

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical field, or related discipline
Minimum 3 years' experience in the solar construction industry or direct engineering management on solar construction projects - solar experience is required
Must have a great attitude in working with the Moss team
Knowledge of electrical design, materials, and methods of construction in power systems
Solar electrical systems background
Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) as it relates to utility-scale power plants is a plus
Good communication and presentation skills, including the ability to organize and present complex technical information effectively in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Highly organized and able to multitask multiple projects at once

**Summary**
The **Formwork Engineer II** designs and prepares formwork layout drawings addressing the technical aspects of formwork layout, forming materials, system selection, and proper implementation. Supports project planning to ensure the most efficient, safe, and economical forming systems are incorporated in the project design. When required, work may be reviewed and stamped by a licensed engineer
**Roles and Responsibilities**
The **Formwork Engineer II** will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner
+ Provides Engineering input for proper form selection Calculates loads for shoring, forming and reshoring
+ Determines member sizes and proper spacing
+ Ensures formwork loads fall within the capacities of the crane
+ Confirms framing layouts meet the design load requirements
+ Designs lifting and rigging equipment
+ Designs temporary bracing for existing structures such as walls and floors
+ Reviews the designs and calculations of Formwork Engineer I
+ Identifies and resolves any unique design issues on the project
+ Produces formwork shop drawings based on the design of the chosen formwork system
+ Produces pour break and crane layout drawings
+ Reviews construction drawings for dimensional conflicts and clarifications
+ Issues RFIs to resolve conflicts
+ Produces repetitive drawings for typical formwork layout
+ Maintains project drawing files
+ Plots and assembles drawings per standards set by the Engineering Department
+ Compares and checks production drawings to the design criteria of the construction documents
+ Identifies safety issues on the drawings
+ Communicates with the field on drawing conflicts and issues related to formwork and brings resolution
+ Maintains standard detail library
+ Ensures critical framing sections are shown on the drawings
+ Reviews and critiques vendor supplied drawings
+ Participates in transition meetings to determine production schedule for shop and engineering drawings and work order production
+ Quantifies take-offs of form material to the shop for fabrication and shipment
+ Compares shop production with the field progress
+ Produces work orders to shop for pre-assembly of forms
+ Provides input related to delivery dates for formwork delivered to project
+ Performs pre-pour inspections
+ Trains and qualifies others to do independent pre pour inspections
+ Critically views all aspects of construction design
+ Supervises, trains, evaluates, and develops direct reports
**Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology; and a minimum of four years related experience and/or training
+ Must be an Engineer in Training (EIT) and pursuing a path towards licensure or licensed in applicable state
+ Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
+ Proficient in AutoCAD
+ Basic understanding of BIM
