The R&D Research Assistant supports key initiatives within the BrightPet Nutrition Group across three primary areas: new product research, product formulation, and technical support. This role plays a crucial part in product innovation, ingredient evaluation, and cross-functional support for both branded and co-manufacturing product lines.
Essential Functions
Assist the department manager in coordinating and managing R&D projects.
Support the branded team in new formula development.
Conduct packaging and labeling reviews for branded and co-manufactured products.
Oversee daily operations of the R&D kitchen and ensure readiness for tabletop test runs.
Collect raw ingredient and finished product samples for nutritional analysis as needed.
Develop and validate internal ingredient requirements and verify nutritional standards.
Develop and validate internal standards and specifications for finished products.
Partner with the production team to build and improve critical control systems for formula fulfillment.
Conduct process capability research with production teams to determine operational limits and improvement opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
B.S. in Animal Science or related field.
Companion Animal Nutrition Certificate required.
Experience in pet food nutrition required.
Familiarity with formulation software.
Strong knowledge of pet food ingredients.
Prior experience in technical services preferred.

On -Call or Special Requirements
Responsibilities of the physician assistant to be available after hours or on weekends will vary by physician and circumstance. A physician assistant may be requested and/or required to attend sports physicals, sporting events or clinic coverage on nights or weekends at the discretion of their attending physician.
A physician assistant may also be required to remain available or called to assist their attending physician for hospital call responsibilities.
A physician assistant may on occasion be requested to assist the attending physician by triaging, evaluating or assist in management of an emergency department patient or after hour call from a patient of the practice. It is expected that this type of special requirement would not be a routine clinical practice.
A physician assistant may be requested to be an informal educator or formal clinical preceptor for a number of various students ranging from ATC students, physician assistant students and fellows.
Education/Experience Required:
Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) approved Physician Assistant Training program.
Must be certified by the NCCPA (National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants) or eligible to sit for the exam.
Licensure or eligible for licensing as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Ohio and other appropriate states.
If prescriptive authority is requested as part of practice privileges, the Physician Assistant must provide evidence of prescriptive authority eligibility as approved by the State Medical Board of Ohio.

Our clinical operations activities are growing rapidly, and we are seeking a full-time, office-based intern to support our Regulatory Submissions team within our Site Activation and Maintenance (SAM) Department for summer 2026. Ophthalmic Testing Skills
Perform refractions per protocol using trial frames.
Measure visual acuity at distance and near utilizing appropriate test for age and protocol and record accurately.
Perform basic low vision testing and pinhole testing as needed.
Perform MN/Radner Reading test
Instill eyedrops properly and understand the indication/contraindication for use in dilation and as corneal anesthetic
Measure and record current lens power accurately with a lensometer (including add power(s) and prism)
Perform pupillary assessment
Estimate anterior chamber depth using transilluminator method
Perform and record basic ocular motility and alignment testing
Perform and record confrontation visual fields
Perform and record Amsler Grid Test
Perform Tonopen tonometry and applanation tonometry as needed
Perform Color Vision Plates and other color vision testing (D15 etc).
Able to navigate EHR and properly document patient information and the results of Basic Ophthalmic Tech Skills
Exam Lane Maintenance and calibration as assigned
Perform routine instrument maintenance on ophthalmic equipment
Stock examination rooms in assigned area and ensure that medication expiration dates are current
Clean, disinfect and maintain examination rooms
Comply with company and Sate Pharmacy Board drop inventory guidelines
Ability to perform equipment calibration and log documentation
Other Testing Skills
Perform clinic and research ERG tests, both full field and multi-focal tests
Perform FST testing and other protocol specific tests
Research Requirements:
Attend in-services for study staff
Review GCP guidelines, maintain GCP &/or CITI certification
Obtain/maintain study-specific examiner certification as required by protocol.

Research Lab Technician I
Venesco LLC is looking for Research Lab Techs to support the 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW). Candidates must have at least three (3) years' demonstrated experience in laboratory animal research within the last six (6) years; OR five (5) years' demonstrated experience with hands-on emergency/specialty animal medicine. Additionally, experience with husbandry for small research animal species and health checks is required.
Base in Ohio, is the first human-centric warfare wing to consolidate human performance research, education and consultation under a single organization. Established under the Air Force Research Laboratory, the 711 HPW is comprised of the Human Effectiveness Directorate (RH), the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). The Wing delivers unparalleled capability to the Air Force through a combination of world class infrastructure and expertise of its diverse workforce of military, civilian and contractor personnel encompassing 75 occupational specialties including science and engineering, occupational health and safety, medical professions, technicians, educators, and business operations and support.
Responsibilities:
1.2.1 The contractor employee shall maintain sanitation of housing rooms, cages, and racks in experimental areas.
1.2.2 The contractor employee shall provide basic husbandry duties in accordance with all DoD, Federal and local regulations.
1.2.3 The contractor employee shall assist Attending Veterinarian (AV) and Principal Investigators (PIs) in performing some surgery and microsurgery on animals.
1.2.4 The contractor employee shall collect experimental data from animals to include blood pressure, weight, blood analyses or other tests based off project support.
1.2.5 The contractor employee shall assist with analysis of data as needed to include medication dosage calculations.
1.2.6 The contractor employee shall order and maintain supplies for the laboratory, to include using a Government or GSA vehicle to pick up supplies when appropriate.
1.2.7 The contractor employee shall create and revise research forms, provide forms and regulatory guidance to research staff with guidance from the AV and Branch Chief.
1.2.8 The contractor employee shall schedule and organize internal and external inspections, maintain the tracker for correction to deficiencies and provide a report to the AV as well as the Branch Chief.
1.2.9 The contractor employee shall review animal subjects research protocols as well as related documents to ensure they are followed as approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Air Force policies.
1.2.10 The contractor employee shall maintain records and electronic databases of animal research protocols and their progress.
1.2.11 The contractor employee shall follow established research guidelines and policies for the animal care activities.
1.2.12 The contractor employee shall research regulations, compliance and guidelines with the Animal Care and Use Program.
1.2.13 The contractor employee shall provide quality control to the administrative area of the animal care program to include the controlled drug program.
1.2.14 The contractor employee shall provide administrative support to the branch as well as other duties as assigned appropriate to the required functions of the research mission.
