Under general supervision, the Resident Assistant provides assistance in the personal care and protection of the residents in the assisted living level of care. Actively incorporates the CARF/CCAC standards into the daily rhythm of life of the residents. Develops awareness of residents' interests and needs and assists residents to maximize their independence and participation. Works on a one-on-one basis with residents providing direct resident care and assists in residents' activities of daily living and scheduled Program activities. Incorporates the “Best Friend” program approach for those with memory support challenges utilizing a positive, can-do attitude. Provides effective customer service skills meeting the standards and culture expectations of the company's Advantage program. As a representative and team member of the company, this position is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction. Including concierge duties.
FLSA Classification - Non Exempt. Part-time. Sunday, 7am to 3pm. Monday & Tuesday, 3pm to 8pm. Other days as needed.
Pay range $19.50 to $21 an hour. Depending on experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education -
High School Diploma or equivalent;
Some Vocational/technical training in the nursing field specifically with elderly and dementia and/or CNA preferred
Experience/Training -
One year experience working with elderly requiring memory support, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Must be proficient in the use of a computer for input of resident information;
Prefer three years' clerical experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Computer skills using Microsoft suite and desktop publishing software, faxing, copying and the use of a paper shredder; minimum one year,
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations -
CPR and First Aid certification required

+ Maintain the flow of the Cycle of Service in accordance to position. Provide Client Education regarding preventive care, Optimum Wellness Plans, and basic status of hospitalized pets. Serve as support to the Client Services Coordinator staff on an as-needed basis.
+ Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
+ Prepare routine in-house laboratory tests (e.g. canine heartworm, feline leukemia, FIV, and canine parvovirus) as allowed by state rules and regulations.
+ Monitor the comfort of hospitalized patients. Ensure the comfort of hospitalized patients by "walking", exercising, feeding, and cleaning cages and pet (when approved by the veterinarian or veterinary technician).
+ Bathe and dip pets when necessary to treat dermatological conditions (when advised by veterinarian or veterinary technician.

The college also houses several centers: the Center for Student Success, the Graduate Advising Office, the Partrick-Clayes Center for Career Development,the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center, the Corky McMillin Center for Real Estate, the Wendy Gillespie Center for Advancing Global Business, the Corporate Governance Institute, the Institute for Inclusion and Diversity, the Center for Integrated Marketing Communication, the James Silberrad Brown Center for Artificial Intelligence and the Aztec Consulting Center, which are critical for the implementation of its strategic plan.
The Center for Student Success (CSS) within the College provides all academic and informational advising for current, prospective, and former students and graduation candidates in the Undergraduate Program. It also focuses on students experiencing academic difficulty and those participating in special programs. It provides assistance to students in filling out academic forms and petitions, and in understanding university and college policies, requirements and procedures.
