Expected starting wage range is $18.69 - $22.52. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. ABOUT THE JOB:
Deschutes County Health Services is accepting applications for a full-time Behavioral Health Specialist II, Crisis Team member. This position is located at the Deschutes County Stabilization Center (DCSC) with work occurring at DCSC and in the community throughout the Deschutes County catchment area. We provide an excellent team environment with support from co-workers and leadership. A supervisor is available 24/7 for urgent consultation. This is an excellent opportunity to become an expert in crisis work as well as develop leadership skills.
This position provides phone and face-to-face crisis screening, assessment, and referral involving a variety of situations including high-risk children and adults needing hospital, residentialor respite care. Clinician may perform a variety of treatment services for clients including, but not limited to, crisis interventions and assessments, safety planning, care coordination, case management, and follow up care. This position would require becoming a director's designee in Deschutes County within 60 days of starting in this position. The workload has variety, and this environment allows for your working hours to be fluid and dynamic.
Our Behavioral Health Specialists II work closely with Case Managers, Peer Support Specialists, and Behavioral Health Technicians to coordinate appropriate responses and services for clients from a multi-discipline team approach. We also coordinate services with numerous community partners including law enforcement, 911 dispatch, hospitals, schools, and other mental/physical health care clinics.
This is a day shift position and typical working hours include weekends from 7:00am to 7:30pm. Specific schedule to be determined upon hire. Will be required to work some holidays.

International Health and Medical Services is looking for an experienced Behavioral Health Specialists to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders among patients, ensuring they receive appropriate psychiatric care and support. This role includes collaborating with the healthcare team to implement treatment plans, monitor progress, and provide crisis intervention as needed, fostering mental health and well-being within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides direct psychiatric care to patients via onsite and telepsychiatry services for scheduled appointments, emergency, or urgent care visit.
Consults with the Psychiatrist and/or Clinical Director for complex psychiatric patients and as required by client policy.
Provides infirmary care including admission, discharge, and daily rounds for patients that require higher levels of psychiatric care or monitoring.
Performs comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and initiates treatment plans for patients as required by client policy, or as required for patient psychiatric complaint.
Follows client policies in the management of significant mental illness including prevention of violence, homicide, self-harm and suicide.
Applies patient-specific knowledge to monitor and control stress levels and provide emotional support and counseling to patients.
Coordinates psychiatric care needs of patients including referrals to off-site consultants.
Solicits and reviews pertinent psychiatric records as indicated.
Adheres to universal precautions.
May serve as medical escort of patients as needed, for domestic/overseas travel.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:

Preferred 3-5 years of full-time experience in direct patient care.
Knowledge of training methods and sufficient interpersonal skills to develop a rapport with patients and co-workers when instructional and educational information is presented.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
Clinical Psychologist - Requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state of Oregon.
Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Competitive Compensation: Compensation is based on billable services rendered. Earning potential is based upon clinicians who work for us. Clinicians make from $82,660.00 to $120,000 per year (working 4 days per week). Income depends on your ability to engage with clients and the clients desire to continue to see you as their therapist as well as how many clients you schedule in your calendar. Your earning potential is up to you!
Client Caseload: Full-Load is defined as a 22hr-client caseload per week, consisting of variable length sessions equivalent to 22 hours. This is the minimum expectation for full-time status. You're welcome to see more clients if that aligns with your personal and professional goals.
Schedule: There is some flexibility in the evening hours and selection of weekdays on the schedule but there will be a requirement to work 2 weeknights and 2 weekend days (Friday and Saturday). Counselor will be required to maintain 25-28 available client hours for scheduling.

Ensures that GPMS, client enrollment surveys, semi-annual satisfaction surveys and other required data is reported to Herbert and Louis.
Collaborates with clients on completion of individualized treatment plans that contain goals and objectives that are measurable and are based on assessed needs and problems;
Provides treatment through a variety of modalities including individual sessions, group counseling, and family counseling, as well as case management services, ensuring individualized, quality care, working collaboratively with treatment team members and other agencies and applying principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature of individual and group counseling;
Leads psycho-educational, skill development, relapse prevention, process, gender-specific, and family groups as assigned;
Develops or finds group curriculum to ensure engaging, supportive, and valuable group experience for clients across a diverse spectrum of the recovery process, including aftercare;
Creates an atmosphere of learning for clients in all stages of change and ensures that clients feel welcome in the program regardless of gambling behavior;
Works closely with referral sources, keeping them informed on the progress of the client, as needed and as appropriate to client confidentiality;
Incorporates peer mentor recovery services as appropriate and possible. Encourages longstanding clients with solid recovery into mentorship roles;

Offers 3 contacts per week for intensive clients;

Provides information about the Program to individuals, the public and an outreach to community groups;
Maintains compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including HIPAA, scope of practice, accreditation standards, OHA and OSHA;

ABOUT THE JOB:
Deschutes County Health Services is accepting applications for a part-time Behavioral Health Specialist II, Crisis Team member. This position is located at the Deschutes County Stabilization Center (DCSC) with work occurring at DCSC and in the community throughout the Deschutes County catchment area. We provide an excellent team environment with support from co-workers and leadership. A supervisor is available 24/7 for urgent consultation. This is an excellent opportunity to become an expert in crisis work as well as develop leadership skills.
This position provides phone and face-to-face crisis screening, assessment, and referral involving a variety of situations including high-risk children and adults needing hospital, residentialor respite care. Clinician may perform a variety of treatment services for clients including, but not limited to, crisis interventions and assessments, safety planning, care coordination, case management, and follow up care. This position would require becoming a director's designee in Deschutes County within 60 days of starting in this position. The workload has variety, and this environment allows for your working hours to be fluid and dynamic.
Our Behavioral Health Specialists II work closely with Case Managers, Peer Support Specialists, and Behavioral Health Technicians to coordinate appropriate responses and services for clients from a multi-discipline team approach. Leads psycho-educational, skill development, relapse prevention, process, gender-specific, and medication supported recovery groups as assigned;

Collaborate with clients on discharge and aftercare planning;
Maintains compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including HIPAA, scope of practice, accreditation standards, OHA and OSHA;

Services provided to the community and region include the following: Acute mental health crisis and triage, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, treatment for SPMI population, substance use triage, local, regional and state resources for long term care access needs, and collaboration with the outpatient community at discharge. Full-time Description
JOB SUMMARY: As part of the Program's Treatment Team, the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor provides individual and group counseling services to patients participating in the Program as well as to clients and to family members on theories and treatment of substance use disorders using a patient-centered approach. The SUD Counselor also functions as community liaison for a patient-centered and harm-reduction approach to substance use disorder treatment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Works closely with the Treatment Team with assigned caseload of clients enrolled in the Program;
Completes intakes, assessments and develops treatment plans as appropriate using American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to assess for appropriate levels of patient care (LOC) and integration with Mental Health and SUD programs;
Collaborates with clients on completion of individualized treatment plans that contain goals and objectives that are measurable and are based on assessed needs and problems;
Provides treatment through a variety of modalities including individual sessions, group counseling, and family counseling, as well as case management services, ensuring individualized, quality care;
Conducts counseling sessions for individuals, groups, and persons diagnosed with substance use disorders working collaboratively with treatment team members and other agencies and applying principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature of individual and group counseling;
Provides crisis intervention as needed;
Assesses ongoing needs of individuals, update assessments and recommendations as needed, and make appropriate referrals for additional services as needed;
Works effectively with all recovery resource providers and all agencies in the community to provide seamless continuum of care for patients with substance use disorders;
Works effectively and respectfully with client and family populations with diverse backgrounds and needs;
Leads psycho-educational, skill development, relapse prevention, process, gender-specific, and medication supported recovery groups as assigned;
Provides information about the Program to individuals, the public and an outreach to community groups;
Collaborates with Certified Recovery Mentors on patient care and provides support and direction as needed;
Collaborate with clients on discharge and aftercare planning;
Maintains compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including HIPAA, scope of practice, accreditation standards, OHA and OSHA;
Works closely with referral sources, keeping them informed on the progress of the client, as needed and appropriate for client confidentiality;
Maintains documentation of client services in the electronic client file (EHR), in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures and regulatory standards;
Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and understanding of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to assess for appropriate levels of patient care (LOC)
Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), EHR platform, databases, virtual meeting platforms, internet, and ability to learn new or updated software
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
For individuals in recovery from substance-use disorder, must have maintained continuous recovery for the previous two years at the time of hire
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
CADC-R with ability/commitment to obtain certification within 1 year of hiring may be hired as SUD Counselor Trainee (CS3)
or
CADC-I required for SUD Counselor I (CS4)
or
CADC-II required for SUD Counselor II (CS5)
Must maintain a valid Oregon Driver License or ability to obtain one upon hire, and be insurable under the organization's auto liability coverage policy (minimum 21 years of age and no Type A violations in the past 3 years, or three (3) or more Type B violations)
PREFERRED:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in addiction or other behavioral health field preferred
Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
