NOTE: Because this position will involve routine interaction with children, all candidates must successfully obtain the following clearances PRIOR to beginning employment:
Ohio BCI
FBI Fingerprint-based criminal history clearance.

Position Overview
The Residential Treatment Specialist is responsible for the daily direct care and supervision of children in residence suffering from childhood trauma with resulting behavioral health issues.
The Residential Treatment Specialist ensures children's basic life, educational and emotional needs are provided.
He or she acts as a role model and mentor for the residents, demonstrating appropriate social and relationship building skills using a trauma informed care model called Sanctuary using the 7 Commitments of the Sanctuary Model -open communication, democracy, non-violence, social learning, social responsibility, growth and change.
CHNK Behavioral Health is the only agency in Kentucky currently certified by the Sanctuary Institute to use this model, and is also the first agency in Kentucky to receive All Children All Families Innovator status from the Human Rights Campaign in LGBTQ competencies.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Level 1 Residential Treatment Specialist
1. A High School diploma is required. Bachelor's degree in a human service field preferred.
2. Must be 19 years of age or older, and have one year demonstrated experience with youth. Previous experience with adolescents in a residential setting strongly preferred.
3. Demonstrate the ability to form and maintain nurturing relationships with emotionally disturbed children.
4. Ability to complete written documentation.
5. Must have a current driver's license and driver's insurance. Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work.
6. Demonstrate proven sensitivity to the various cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of Children's Home clients and staff.
7. Must be willing to spend meal period eating with the clients on a regular basis.

o Be alert and respond therapeutically to aggressive behavior exhibited by residents, including diversion into other activities, intensive teaching, physical assist or other disciplinary/control procedures as outlined in the policy.
o Teach the principals of the Therapeutic Individualized Phases to Success (TIPS) and maintain all needed points and other documentations.
o Provide direct care supervision of children during all aspects of the daily routine, monitor school progress, assist with homework/tutoring, and provide supervision for special events.
o Perform all duties of primary role, activity role, and/or crisis role as assigned while on shift.
o Monitor and manage children in crisis situations by providing for safety and emotional needs using TIPS, de-escalation, intensive teaching techniques and SCM as trained.
o Dispense all medications as directed per prescription and document per agency policy (duty of primary role).
o Document incident reports accurately and timely as required by policy.
o Cooperate with other staff members in achieving goals and treatment philosophies of the Home. Participate fully and positively as a member of the treatment team while following directions of Residential Treatment Specialist Supervisor.
o Attend team meetings, staff meetings, in-service training and other meetings as requested by your supervisor.
o Assist newly hired staff members in learning proper procedures, routines and agency policies.
o Perform duties surrounding transportation of residents to community appointments and activities as requested by the Residential Treatment Specialist Supervisor.
o Assumes responsibility to maintain physical plant and ensure cottages, building, grounds, and vehicles are kept in good condition. Complete maintenance requests and give to the Maintenance Supervisor.
o Prepare meals as directed or assist residents in cooking special meals. Staff are required to spend their meal period eating with the clients on a regular basis.
o Aid in supervising the children's vocational work as requested by your supervisor and cottage milieu.
o Maintains professionalism when acting as agency liaison during interactions with residents' families, parents and caregivers.
o Third shift: Must be awake at all times and conduct 15 minute room checks. Maintain the cleanliness of all working areas including keeping up with laundry for residents.

Purpose:
Residential Assistants (RAs) provide direct supervision to residents of Brighton Center's Homeward Bound Shelter. The 24/7 shelter serves abused, neglected, and homeless youth ages 11-17, males and females. RAs actively engage with youth to enhance their progress towards individual goals. RAs play an essential role in supporting youth as they build life skills, participate in school, seek employment, and increase their social-emotional wellbeing.
Job Responsibilities:
2nd Shift
5 p.m. - 10 p.m. Wednesday & Thursday; 10 p.m. - 8 a.m. Friday, Saturday, & Sunday
Provide supervision, support, and behavior management as needed to youth
Oversee the safety of residents and the facility
Answer all hotline calls and providing crisis counseling as necessary
Complete required shift documentation
Prepare meals for youth
Engage in programming with youth
Ensure cleanliness of the facility
Collaborate with Treatment Team regarding youth progress toward goals
Attend monthly employee meetings and training as necessary
Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age
Two years' experience working with at-risk adolescents preferred

Position Overview
The Residential Treatment Specialist is responsible for the daily direct care and supervision of children in residence suffering from childhood trauma with resulting behavioral health issues.
The Residential Treatment Specialist ensures children's basic life, educational and emotional needs are provided.
He or she acts as a role model and mentor for the residents, demonstrating appropriate social and relationship building skills using a trauma informed care model called Sanctuary using the 7 Commitments of the Sanctuary Model -open communication, democracy, non-violence, social learning, social responsibility, growth and change.
CHNK Behavioral Health is the only agency in Kentucky currently certified by the Sanctuary Institute to use this model, and is also the first agency in Kentucky to receive All Children All Families Innovator status from the Human Rights Campaign in LGBTQ competencies.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Level 1
1. A High School diploma is required. Bachelor's degree in a human service field preferred.
2. Must be 19 years of age or older, and have one year demonstrated experience with youth. Previous experience with adolescents in a residential setting strongly preferred.
3. Demonstrate the ability to form and maintain nurturing relationships with emotionally disturbed children.
4. Ability to complete written documentation.

Purpose:
Residential Assistants (RAs) provide direct supervision to residents of Brighton Center's Homeward Bound Shelter. The 24/7 shelter serves abused, neglected, and homeless youth ages 11-17, males and females. RAs actively engage with youth to enhance their progress towards individual goals. RAs play an essential role in supporting youth as they build life skills, participate in school, seek employment, and increase their social-emotional wellbeing.
Job Responsibilities:
PRN
* Provide supervision, support, and behavior management as needed to youth
* Oversee the safety of residents and the facility
* Answer all hotline calls and providing crisis counseling as necessary
* Complete required shift documentation
* Prepare meals for youth
* Engage in programming with youth
* Ensure cleanliness of the facility
* Collaborate with Treatment Team regarding youth progress toward goals
* Attend monthly employee meetings and training as necessary
Requirements:
* Must be 21 years of age
* Two years' experience working with at-risk adolescents preferred
* Must have a High School diploma, some college preferred
* Have a valid driver's license with a good driving record for at least the past 5 years
* Residential experience a plus

DUTIES:
The Social Services Caseworker investigates claims of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elder adults and maintains a caseload of clients who have previously been determined to require the protective assistance of the services in the agency.
Meets procedural deadlines governing the management of social services cases set by the State of Ohio and ensures documentation is complete.
Participates in legal action to establish legal guardianship in cases related to elder adults, including testifying in court, if necessary.
Serves as on-call social services worker.
These duties are illustrative only and you may perform some or all of these duties or other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of graduate core coursework in behavioral science, social science early childhood development, education, or related fields.
Completion of undergraduate major core coursework or two years' technical training in behavioral science, social science early childhood development, education, or related fields.
Valid drivers license
Having held this position within the last three years meets the minimum qualifications.
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position involves regular exposure to environmental conditions (e.g., cold, excessive heat, noise, fumes, vibration, dirt) during interviews and meetings conducted outside of the office.
The incumbent may occasionally interact with angry or hostile clients.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws, rules, and regulations governing eligibility, agency computer systems, office management, social sciences, counseling, and case plans. They will also possess skills in typing, word processing, interviewing, and reasoning ability (numerical, verbal, clerical, interpersonal, and physical).

What You Will Be Doing
Teach independent living skills and assist the youth and their family in achieving stated objectives.

Review, sign and implement ISP's as needed.
Supervise all activities of the independent living center during assigned shifts.

Develop and implement specific activities and tasks for our clients related to the objectives in their ISP with appropriate guidance.
What You Bring To The Table
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's degree or, college coursework in a human services related field preferred.
Prior experience working in the Mental Health/Social Services field.
Must have a working knowledge of behavioral interventions.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.
Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Have a valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance with no DUI/OVI violations and no more than 5 points on your MVR.
A clean criminal background check.
