Cedar Recovery is currently hiring for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider Designation (LPC-MHSP). The Lead Counselor will implement effective treatment strategies in coordination with the Clinical Director and play a vital role in helping patients feel better, get better and stay better.
Cedar Recovery, LLC is an ASAM Level I outpatient treatment facility that employs an array of evidenced-based treatment modalities to provide an integrated model of care of medical, counseling, and therapeutic interventions to treat every patient's individual needs and promote long-term sustainable recovery from substance use disorder. While Cedar Recovery provides care for all substance use disorders, it has a primary focus on treating opioid use disorder with medications such as Buprenorphine and/or Naltrexone, as well as Methadone (MAT).
This role will oversee the therapy staff and programming at Cedar Recovery's buprenorphine treatment Office Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) and methadone treatment Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) facilities. Both facilities are based in Bristol, VA.
Overview
The Lead Counselor is expected to demonstrate expertise in: individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, advocacy, case management, substance abuse assessments, intakes, discharge/continuing care planning, and appropriate referrals. The counselor may also perform other related tasks that are a part of Cedar Recovery's operation. The focus in this position requires knowledge of opioid addiction and direct practice in facilitating evidenced based treatment. Counselors are entrusted to maintain their expertise and continually gain knowledge via continuing education and training within the scope of opioid or substance abuse treatment.

Support the patient's progress toward recovery goals, improved social determinants of health scores, and patient health outcomes.
Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of medical providers and admin professionals to provide best-in-class care to our patients.
Supervise staff counselor(s) and group counselor(s) on staff.
This can include conducting internal chart audits, co-signing notes, ensuring compliance, developing clinical skills
Regularly evaluate staff needs and facilitate some clinical training.
Conduct individual and group sessions.
Administer patient assessments as clinically indicated.
Orient patients to the treatment program's policies and procedures.
Establish and build rapport with clients.
Conduct initial assessments and formulate individual plans of care. Includes activities related to managing and improving the care of the patient population across health, substance abuse and mental health treatment, and social service providers.
Establish SMART goals with each patient and monitor progress.
Maintain licensure/certification and complete required CEU's.
Provide referrals outside of Cedar Recovery as clinically indicated.
In collaboration with the OTP Program Director, ensure compliance with 42 cfr, accreditation guidelines, and other state and federal regulations governing OTPs.
Qualifications
The minimum requirements for this position are a Master's level degree individual and is licensed.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The clinician must also be available to respond to questions from their clinical team, as needed.
Some employees may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Employees working virtually are expected to fulfill the same job functions as in the office, including carrying the same office hours and being able to communicate effectively and promptly in a virtual environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
A positive, supportive role model who guides and influences group activities on a consistent basis that enhances the youth's confidence and self-esteem. Youth Counselors ensure the progress and welfare of each client and the group through therapeutic programs. Responsible for staff secure supervision during the afternoon, evening, and sleeping hours.
Lead group of youth through a variety of daily activities while providing group and individual counseling, with an emphasis on strength-based development. Ensure successful development of the youth through rational living cognitive behavioral therapy to help youth define their life goals and then help them achieve those goals-pointing out thinking errors and faulty cognitions along the way.
Qualifications
Must be 21 Years of Age or Older per DJJ Guidelines.
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years' relevant experience working with youth is required. Bachelor's degree in social/behavioral services or outdoor recreation specialties is preferred. 2+ years of college in a social or human services can substitute youth experience requirement.
Direct care in a therapeutic/rehabilitative setting preferred.
Ability to travel about property, through wilderness terrain. Must be able to pass evaluation of crisis intervention/physical restraint techniques and written certification exam, and use approved techniques as needed. Must be able to participate in aquatic activities. Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time. Constant exposure to outdoors and/or weather conditions. Responsible for the overall supervision and safety of clients. Supervision may include shift work.
Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Valid and appropriate driver's license or state identification is required.

Location/Schedule: Office located on-campus in Crossnore, NC. Your Impact: As a Bridging Futures Child and Family Therapist, you play a pivotal role in helping young adults ages 17-21 develop the emotional, relational, and coping skills they need to thrive beyond foster care. Using evidence-based and trauma-informed practices, you will guide individualized treatment planning, provide therapeutic services, and respond to crises with calm, clinical leadership. You'll work closely with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to ensure each young adult receives holistic, coordinated care. While family therapy may be part of treatment when appropriate, the primary focus is supporting young adults as they build independence, stability, and self-efficacy. Hiring Range: $53,000 - $68,000K annually, $3000 SIGN ON BONUS
Associate Licensed - $53,000 annually.
Salary is based on education and experience.
All associate licensed therapists start at $53K unless additional relevant human services experience is present, excluding internship.
Fully Licensed - $60,000 - $ 68,000 annually

Education/Experience/Licensure:
Must have a valid and active license in one of the following areas: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); fully licensed preferred; Provisional or Associate License required.
Experience as a therapist working with young adults and families (if applicable) in foster care is preferred.

Serve as a referral source for additional agency or community-based supports

The Substance Abuse Counselor assists in developing, organizing, and conducting groups to provide education and treatment for conditions and problems relating to drug and alcohol abuse. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Substance Abuse Counselor provides relevant Substance Abuse information for class curriculum in our Relapse Prevention Program.
Facilitates didactic educational presentations including Living in Balance collection, and group counseling.
The Substance Abuse Counselor coordinates substance abuse program at an office or group of offices using principles of the “What Works” system. Schedules intakes, and group and individual sessions. Discusses specific cases with case managers to determine if they are appropriate for substance abuse treatment. May assist with the assignment of cases.
Facilitates psycho-educational and behavior modification groups using principles of the “What Works” system. Documents participants' attendance, participation and progress in Company database.
The Substance Abuse Counselor conducts risk and need assessments and creates individual treatment plans for each assigned participant. Meets regularly with participants and documents participants' progress or regress in Company database.
Establishes and maintains relationships with outside referral sources, such as in-patient substance abuse facilities or detox facilities. Actively pursues and develops referrals from probation and evaluating agencies.
The Substance Abuse Counselor provides re-entry follow up services at regular intervals, in coordination with other re-entry center programs staff, to ensure released inmates are keeping appointments and determining whether additional services and support networks are needed.
Maintains accurate clinical documentation including intake summaries, group notes, discharge summaries, treatment plans and updates. Updates therapeutic logs in a timely manner. Enters pertinent information into Company database.
The Substance Abuse Counselor identifies problem areas that may impact participants' ability to successfully complete treatment. Guides participants to develop strategies to overcome obstacles to success completion of treatment.
May advise Customer of participants' progress regularly or at completion of treatment.
The Substance Abuse Counselor collects participants' fees for program participation. Tracks fee collection for office or group of offices Ensures that participants' records are accurately completed in a timely manner.
Maintains a specific substance abuse treatment case file for every program participant.
Selects and recommends new instructional materials and programs for use in the substance abuse program.
Maintains knowledge of new developments in the field of substance abuse.
Maintains a collegial relationship with other substance abuse professionals, programs, and associations.
Participates in related training for substance abuse.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; and a minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience of counseling duties with a criminal justice or human services population in a substance abuse program.
Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (“LADAC”), licensed by the Tennessee Department of Health; Tennessee Code Annotated 68-24-606 is required.
A waiver for LADAC may be granted only if all three (3) of the following criteria are met and is further subject to approval by the Tennessee Dept. of Corrections:
The individual is currently engaged in formal supervision with appropriate supervision outlined by health-related boards and;
The individual is actively pursuing licensure, and enrolled in core classes if still needed, and;
A letter from the supervisor indicating current ongoing supervision with current placement and confirmation of the supervisor's current license would be required.
Or, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) credentials in the state in which the position resides.
