Description:
This position provides on-site support for the Laredo Job Corps Center (Laredo, TX) operated by Strategix
On an as-needed basis, provide overall guidance and direction to assigned students to help them acclimate to group living standards, develop positive, independent living and social skills, and adhere to Job Corps behavioral standards to successfully complete the program.
Essential Functions
1. Follow strict accountability documentation requirements to account for students' whereabouts during non-training hours through morning attendance checks (MAC), rollcall, nightly bed checks, and unauthorized absence (UA) checks in compliance with Job Corps Policy and Requirements Handbook guidelines.
2. Record timely morning attendance checks in the Center Information System (CIS) as required by management.
3. Monitor dormitories and student interactions at all times to ensure a safe living environment and intervene as needed to deescalate student conflicts.
4. Maintains individual student files to include basic identifying information, emergency contacts, and written parental consent for minors for weekend passes to approved destinations. Ensures files are secured, but accessible to authorized dormitory staff. 5. Follow all non-health standing orders in collaboration with medical staff and adhere to center protocols in managing emergency situations.
6. Participate in regular evaluations of student progress and case management meetings to provide input on social development, behavioral progress, and interventions as needed.
7. Enter regular social development progress notes in the Job Corps Case Notes system using the RAP (Reason, Action, Plan) format. Ensure that confidential student information is not entered in Case Notes.
8. Provide instruction and guidance to students in developing self-management skills including personal responsibility, maintaining clean living areas, good personal hygiene, and positive peer relations.
9. Supervise and participate in daily dorm cleanup, monitor supplies, and submit requisitions and repair requests to management as needed.
10. Conduct daily student dorm room and common area checks and counsel students as needed to promote orderly and clean-living conditions.
11. Promote positive student behavior through monthly individual and group competitions and administer incentives in alignment with the departmental budget and the center's Behavior Management and Incentive Plans.
12. Support the academic and CTT departments to promote good class attendance to students.
13. Enforce accountability for dorm attendance requirements including signing MAC rosters, requesting weekend passes, and adhering to curfews.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience Minimum
High school diploma or equivalent and one year's experience working with youth. High level of conflict resolution and verbal communication skills. Information technology proficiency including MS Office. Unless waived by management, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required. The incumbent may be required to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL).
Preferred
Associate's in human services or related field and two years' experience working with youth.

The Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) serves as a member of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP). BHIP is a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals which provides comprehensive, accessible, Veteran-centered mental health care. The BHIP Mental Health Treatment Coordinator (MHTC) will be a member of all BHIP teams within the clinic and is responsible for various aspects of assessing, diagnosing, treating, and coordinating the treatment of Veterans within BHIP and the Mental Health Service Line. BHIP Mental Health Treatment Coordinator (MHTC) is responsible for various aspects of assessing, diagnosis, treating, and coordinating the treatment of Veterans within BHIP and the Mental Health Service Line. This includes, but is not limited to, providing services through the telehealth modality across several sites of care with the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (VATVCBHCS). This assignment is to be relatively few in numbers based on the size of the facility/service and applying sound position management.
The Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC):
* provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services which requires advanced and expert skill in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities used in specialty treatment programs or with special patient populations. This includes individual, group, and/or family psychotherapy and advanced level psychosocial and/or case management interventions used in the treatment of Veterans with a range DSM diagnoses, substance abuse/dependence, and poly-traumatic injuries.
* serves as the primary licensed independent clinician to meet the same day access, and crisis intervention needs of Veterans requesting mental health care. This includes conducting the same day evaluation through telehealth modalities, in-person, or by telephone, according to policy. * provides initial and ongoing assessment of needs and completes comprehensive psychological intake evaluations for coverage or mental health updates, including diagnosis, to Veterans in BHIP. In addition, comprehensive chart reviews, completion of consults, referrals, and psychoeducation related to resources for self-management, whole health, and linkages to the community available for Veterans and families. Serves as advocate for Veterans and serves an ongoing point of contact and clinical resource for Veterans receiving mental
health services.
* ensures mental health treatment for Veterans within BHIP and the care continuity between levels of care. Has the primary responsibility of MH Care Coordination on the team, across the continuum of specialty MH care, and participates in care planning to ensure integration of care coordination within the overall care plan.
* conducts risk evaluation, treatment, care coordination, or referrals for Veterans within BHIP, including those who are in the COMPACT Act, Post discharge engagement, REACHVet program, and those with a High Risk for Suicide Patient Record Flag. Collaborates with Suicide Prevention, other care coordinators/ managers and Mental Health providers to identify Veterans at risk for suicide and others with complex needs to increase monitoring or enhance care with targeted suicide prevention strategies as indicated.

Acts as a liaison for academic support services such as tutoring, library services, and Student Support Services programs on campus.
Acts as a liaison between various student affairs areas such as Counseling, Student Disability, Services, Career Services and Financial Aid.
Practices data-driven outreach, proactive resource referral, and timely academic solution interventions to meet the needs of students.
Maintains confidential student records and program data.
Documents Advising notes, Check-Ins, and other academic interventions.

2. Record timely morning attendance checks in the Center Information System (CIS) as required by management.
3. Monitor dormitories and student interactions at all times to ensure a safe living environment and intervene as needed to deescalate student conflicts.
4. Maintains individual student files to include basic identifying information, emergency contacts, and written parental consent for minors for weekend passes to approved destinations. Ensures files are secured, but accessible to authorized dormitory staff. 5. Follow all non-health standing orders in collaboration with medical staff and adhere to center protocols in managing emergency situations.
6. Participate in regular evaluations of student progress and case management meetings to provide input on social development, behavioral progress, and interventions as needed.
7. Enter regular social development progress notes in the Job Corps Case Notes system using the RAP (Reason, Action, Plan) format. Ensure that confidential student information is not entered in Case Notes.
8. Provide instruction and guidance to students in developing self-management skills including personal responsibility, maintaining clean living areas, good personal hygiene, and positive peer relations.
9. Supervise and participate in daily dorm cleanup, monitor supplies, and submit requisitions and repair requests to management as needed.
10. Conduct daily student dorm room and common area checks and counsel students as needed to promote orderly and clean-living conditions.
11. Promote positive student behavior through monthly individual and group competitions and administer incentives in alignment with the departmental budget and the center's Behavior Management and Incentive Plans.
12. Support the academic and CTT departments to promote good class attendance to students.
13. Enforce accountability for dorm attendance requirements including signing MAC rosters, requesting weekend passes, and adhering to curfews.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience Minimum
High school diploma or equivalent and one year's experience working with youth. High level of conflict resolution and verbal communication skills. Information technology proficiency including MS Office. Unless waived by management, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required. The incumbent may be required to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL).
Preferred
Associate's in human services or related field and two years' experience working with youth.
