Job Duties
Incident/Exposure Reporting and Investigation. Manager and implement the Incident/Exposure Reporting and Investigation program. Ensure the program prescribes methods and practices for reporting and investigating incidents.
Worker's Compensation Claim Management, in partnership with Human Resources. Review, monitor, and manage the claims process. Manage the early return to work and modified duty program, monitor and analyze accident and injury trends, identify areas of increased training and emphasis of incident prevention.
Emergency Action Plan. In conjunction with facilities and engineering, ensure company's EAP is current and implemented. Ensure appropriate individuals are trained in the processes and procedures should the plan be activated.
Ensure and coordinate all forklift drivers, machine operators, sanitation workers, mechanics, DOT drivers are licensed accordingly, trained and with compliance.
Maintain companies Personal Protective Equipment, Machine Safety & Equipment usage, Lockout/Tagout, Hazardous Communication etc. are communicated to employees accordingly, and training is performed as required.
Ensure Record Keeping and Posting Requirements documentation are maintained per mandated record retention regulations.
Coordinate monthly meetings.
Perform weekly/monthly/quarterly inspections of both plant facilities and report any and all concerns to management.
Works with Human Resources Management to conduct monthly employee committee meetings.
Work & Qualification Requirements
7+ years of progressive safety experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations (OSHA)
Creativity, innovation and the ability to solve problems and generate viable solutions.
Must have good time management skills and be able prioritize duties.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

What You Will Do:
In this role, you'll be a driving force behind a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment. Your work will span training, field engagement, and strategic safety leadership. You will:
Deliver engaging, hands‑on safety training for employees and contractors on topics such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, CPR/AED/First Aid, trenching and excavation, cargo securement, and other critical safety practices.
Investigate incidents and near misses, conduct hazard assessments, and perform area inspections to uncover risks and recommend corrective actions.

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience creating, supporting, or implementing safety procedures, audits, drills, and training programs (preferred).
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, federal and local safety codes, PPE, and industry-standard safety practices.

Job Purpose:
Supports the Commission's goal of preventing incidents and unsafe behavior that result in on-the-job injuries and/or property damage and maintaining regulatory compliance. This is performed by providing safety training, administering Safety and Health programs, conducting accident investigations, area inspections, and crew/employee/contractor audits and working with management and employees to solve safety and health issues and concerns.
Primary Functions:
In collaboration with department leadership, supports the development and facilitation of safety training using visual tools for record keeping, work site surveillance and inspection, and hazard mitigation records (i.e. lock-out tag-out, confined space, permit required confined space, CPR/AED/1st Aid, cargo, securement, trenching and excavation, etc.).
Writes and presents reports such as incident reports, research findings, special hazards reports, safety notifications, email notifications etc.
Engage in emergency response trainings, policies, procedures, drills and serve as liaison to incident command units.
Assist in planning, developing and revising procedures, evaluating personal protective equipment, critiquing drill responses, on-site response to medical emergencies, and organizing and scheduling training exercises and drills.
Schedule and conduct safety meetings for departments and create debriefing reports post meetings.
Conduct unannounced/announced field audits and annual facility inspections.
Perform job task evaluations to determine adequacy of safety controls and provide recommendations;

Overview
The Sustainability Fleet Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting both ES & IS branches in tracking all fleet and safety related dashboards and compliance reports. The Fleet Safety Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe worksite. Also responsible for the development and implementation of safety programs and procedures.
Responsibilities
• Assists in maintaining fleet vehicle assignments in Enterprise and Geotab.
• Assists with Enterprise tracking of maintenance, fuel, and mileage audit.
• Tracks Geotab Scorecard metrics and provides notice to Branch Management on all compliance issues.
• Maintains and tracks health reports on cameras.
• Maintains and tracks all vehicle tag registrations.
• Tracks monthly safety training compliance.
• Tracks onboarding safety training compliance.
• Maintains safety committee meeting minutes and action items.
• Assists in developing the monthly safety training PPT.
• Consistent inspection and monitoring, in addition to partnering with Branch Management, to maintain the safety program standards and procedures.
• Maintains a safety database with all safety related documents.
