The Environmental Health and Safety Manager serves as the safety expert for DeZURIK's Gastonia, North Carolina site, developing and directing the implementation of programs necessary to develop a proactive safety culture. This role also helps manage a comprehensive safety system that controls cost and risk and focuses on cultural improvements with leading and lagging indicators as the driving metric. This role has a behavior-based safety focus on complete trust and cooperation between the leaders and team members. The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is an environmental steward for the site, ensuring all environmental compliance is within Federal, State, County, and City regulatory requirements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
* Analyze and identify common safety/health hazards inherent in the organization's operations, and establish processes and procedures for protection from those hazards.
* Identifies applicable regulatory requirements and establishes procedures for their implementation.
* Acts as environmental liaison with third-party contractors to ensure county, state, and federal requirements. Ensures compliance and facilitates decreasing the environmental footprint.
* Audits safety programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and unique local conditions.
* Partners with the Director of EHS to monitor periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, and alert appropriate management to correct problem areas.
* Partner with third-party vendors to ensure all environmental compliance.
* Leads investigation of major accidents/incidents/hazards/near misses, recommends future preventive measures, and ensures implementation through problem-solving techniques.
* Responsible for OSHA logs, First Reports of Injury, and partners with HR on Workers' Compensation claims at corporate location.
* Reviews new products, equipment, and processes for potential hazards and recommends modifications before introduction.
* Works with team members and supervisors to identify and correct potential safety and health hazards.
* Develop safe standard work practices with line personnel and monitor conformance through safety and housekeeping inspections.
* Provide feedback to support plant engineering to assist with implementing engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
* Conduct ergonomics studies to ensure the proper tooling and layout of the process.
* Serves as Emergency Response Coordinator, managing emergency procedures and organizing emergency teams during an event.
* Partners with the Operations Team for utilization of the safety LMS system. Communicate trends, gaps, and planned annual training requirements.
* Ensures thorough investigation and accountability that the Safety Accountability Policy is upheld after completed root cause analysis.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, or related degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
* Experience with and understanding of safety operations in a metal manufacturing organization.
Preferred:
* Experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
* Certified Safety Professional (CSP) desired.
* Experience with musculoskeletal/ergonomics.
* Experience with problem-solving skills.

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to provide dedicated safety leadership for our data center construction operations. Perform proactive field engagement and provide strong safety leadership to help prevent serious injuries and eliminate high-potential events
Strengthen and standardize safety practices across data center projects, ensuring full compliance with internal procedures and client requirements
Maintain an active daily presence in the field through routine safety walks, observations, and coaching conversations
Support the development and review of JHAs/JSAs, pre-task plans, and high-risk activity reviews (e.g., hot work, energized work, lifting operations, confined space entry, work at heights)
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and verification of control measures; ensure timely and effective corrective actions
Lead or support incident and near-miss investigations, including root-cause analysis and documented corrective actions
Develop and deliver targeted safety training and toolbox talks tailored to site-specific risks
Review safety practices and documentation for subcontractors and vendors when applicable
Track, analyze, and report key safety metrics, trends, and leading indicators to project leadership

Required Qualifications
5+ years of safety experience in construction or industrial environments, including prior experience on data center construction projects
Direct experience supporting live data centers, critical facilities, or other high-risk or MEP-heavy construction projects
OSHA 500/510 Certification is required
Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926/1910, NFPA 70E, hot work standards, LOTO, working at heights, and confined space requirements
Proficiency with Procore (preferred) or other safety management software (e.g., HammerTech, QHSE systems, or similar tools)
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering safety training for craft workers and supervisors
Proven track record in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation

Job Summary
A Project HSE Manager is an integral member of a project team and they are highly dedicated to the health and well-being of others. Exceptional teamwork and ability to coordinate with the Project Manager (PM) and Quality Control Manager (QCM) to ensure integrated compliance with safety and quality requirements.
The SSHO must be eligible for base access through a completed background investigation and, if required, obtain a Common Access Card; no classified clearance is required.

Position Summary: The Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) will serve as the primary authority for planning, implementing, and enforcing the Contractor's Safety and Health Program under this potential contract supporting the 81st Readiness Division (RD). This position ensures all operational, maintenance, and environmental activities are conducted in strict compliance with federal, state, and local safety standards requirements.
The SSHO works collaboratively with the Program Manager (PM) and Quality Control Manager (QCM) to promote a unified safety and quality culture, perform enterprise-level risk assessments, and ensure consistent reporting and compliance across all 81st RD sites. This position is contingent upon contract award and is for a possible contract.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and enforce the Contractor's Safety and Health Program in accordance with contract requirements and applicable regulations.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, AR 420-1, and EO 14057 sustainability and environmental directives.
Conduct daily safety inspections, hazard analyses, and risk assessments for all ongoing site activities.
Prepare, maintain, and update all required Safety Plans, Accident Prevention Plans (APPs), and other safety documentation.
Provide regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and safety-related training for all project personnel and subcontractors.
Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near-miss events, ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Maintain complete and accurate safety records, including logs, inspection reports, and incident summaries, for government review.
Coordinate closely with the PM and QCM to integrate safety performance into quality control and operational objectives.
Conduct enterprise-level trend analysis to identify risks and develop preventive measures across all supported sites.
Promote a strong, proactive safety culture emphasizing continuous improvement and employee engagement in safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 3 years of satisfactory experience in preparing and enforcing a Contractor's safety program on contracts of similar size, scope, and complexity within the past.
Must have successfully completed the 30-hour OSHA Safety Class or equivalent within the last three (3) years.
Must pass a background screen
Preferred Qualifications:
Dedicated safety professional certified in OSHA-30 and EM 385-1-1 compliance.
Advanced training in Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), AR 420-1 sustainability, and Executive Order (EO) 14057 environmental compliance.
Experience performing enterprise-level risk assessments and implementing preventive safety programs across multiple project locations.
Strong knowledge of federal safety management systems and Army Reserve environmental and occupational health programs.
Demonstrated ability to develop and lead proactive, data-driven safety initiatives that reduce risk and enhance organizational culture.
Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills with proven success in coordinating with PM and QCM for integrated safety-quality management.
