Saint Lukes College company history timeline

1903

Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City opened a department of nursing in 1903.

1946

In 1946, the Hospital opened a four-story building that included classrooms, laboratories, a library, offices and residential space for approximately 200 students.

1988

It becomes the first College of Nursing in Japan to accept transfer of students who have graduated from other junior colleges of nursing (to 1988).

1993

Since then additional degree and certificate programs have been added, beginning with allied health sciences in 1993.

2001

In 2001 the College's Board of Directors authorized the change of the institution's official name to St Luke's College.

2010

On August 29, 2010, the College was renamed Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences in conjunction with a change to a private, not-for-profit corporation status with Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City the single shareholder.

2018

For the first time in 115 years, Saint Luke's College expanded degree offerings by launching associate degrees in allied health and a full general education program in 2018.
