With a great deal of courage, Friedrich Schunk founded a workshop after the end of the Second World War in 1945 – virtually from nothing.
His talent for tinkering made it possible to handle large orders for which there were no tools yet: he made them himself with his team! When his son Heinz-Dieter Schunk became part of the management in 1962, the company began to rapidly develop.
1986 Xycarb and Alectro become 100% subsidiaries of NV Intech - Indivers having sold their interests to a consortium of banks and management
1992 Louwers Glass Technique is sold to Mr.
1996 Schunk GmbH becomes 100% shareholder of Xycarb Ceramics B.V.
