RESPONSIBILITIES Perform prep and fusion of single-mode or multi-mode fiber optic cables Place and test jumpers in communication cabinets Properly dress aerial and underground cabling and place mid-sheath splices & butt splices Test and troubleshoot fiber using an OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifier and scope Perform installation and testing of fiber cross connects Work flexible hours as needed and on-call rotation which may include nights and weekends Work with Project Manager, Construction Manager and Fiber Engineer to perform splicing as directed Train on and safely operate bucket truck with supervision Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic that can provide high productivity with minimal supervision Other duties as assigned CORE COMPETENCIES There are several competencies required to be successful in this position.
