1873

In her 1873 book "Among the Isles of Shoals," Portsmouth-born poet and artist Celia Laighton Thaxter recounted the tale of two “chief magistrates” from the Isles of Shoals who hated each other.

1969

For decades after the death of her husband in 1969, Portsmouth’s Betty Hill spent countless hours near her family home in Kensington, N.H., documenting what she believed to be a busy UFO site.

Founded in 1982, Work Opportunities Unlimited is a community-based employment service provider specializing in placing job seekers who experience barriers to employment.

1995

According to McElwee, easyBackgrounds is an offshoot of a general investigative company – Commercial Investigative Services -- he started in 1995 with a cousin, a former member of the New Hampshire State Police.

In May 1996, Dave Hodgdon opened the doors at 75 Congress St The original focus of PCG was Microsoft training, necessary to support the newer versions of Microsoft Office.

1998

@Website Publicity, founded in 1998, serves small- to mid-market merchants, educational institutions and B2B marketers throughout the United States.

2002

Rachel Forrest is a former restaurant owner who started her career as a food journalist in the Seacoast area in 2002.

The company grew quickly from four to 22 employees by 2002.

EXETER — Bauer Performance Sports Ltd. announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Davis received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 New England Region award this week at a black-tie dinner at the Sheraton Boston.

2019

She graduated in 2019 from Franklin Pierce University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
