Rick Jordan is a Chief Financial Officer at SecureLogix Corp.

I have been working in the software industry for over 20 years. Most recently, I have been working in the voice/VoIP/UC security and network industry. I am currently the CTO and head of research at SecureLogix. I am focused on new technology research, strategy, and defining new business models. I am working with DHS and other government organizations to fuel our research program.

I have built and retained talented research and engineering teams building very complex, highly reliable enterprise software. My teams consistently deliver innovative research, high quality software, on time, and to spec. I have used and led teams using a variety of software technology. Our new software product is based open source technology to include Apache Spark, J2EE, the JBoss application server, Drools, as well as high performance native UC security software.

I also work with our strategic customers, monitor for new security threats, and architect our security solution.

I have earned two Ph.D. (separately defended thesis and pursued research at two universities) and two Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications and Networked Systems Design from University of New South Wales (Australia), and from ISAE-SUPAERO under University of Toulouse (France) respectively, and currently working for SecureLogix Corporation as the Vice President of Research and a Chief Scientist, closely overseeing both research, technology, and business development activities, as well as managing and leading the research team.

Prior to SecureLogix, I worked as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Vysk Communications Inc. in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I jointly led the overall technology development and directly contributed to the design and implementation of Vysk's flagship QS1 product - an end-to-end ultra-secure communication hardware that extends traditional devices e.g. iPhones - as well as contributing into team-management and business responsibilities, such as leading the privacy and security team, pitching technical contents to support sales and marketing, helping fundraising activities, etc.

Before joining Vysk, I spent a tenure of about eight years at National ICT Australia (NICTA; currently Data61/CSIRO), one of Australia's largest ARC Research Centers of Excellence in several research and development projects involving the state of the art networked systems development and protocol design, firsthand implementations of these systems, with strong privacy and security in focus.

I am officially in love with engineering and technology, and I thoroughly enjoy building technology solutions from scratch. Particularly the fields of computer networks, protocol and systems design, application, operating system and network security, reverse-engineering, malware analysis, and practical cryptography predominantly occupy areas of my skill and interest. I believe I am strongly motivated, astute, trustworthy, usually put my 100% in solving problems that I find interesting, and I don't easily give up.
