Essential Functions
1. Tests fire and intrusion alarms; reports malfunctions.

3. Confiscate contraband, weapons, etc., and deliver confiscated items to the Security Manager for proper disposal.
4. Assists Center staff and law officers in controlling disturbances; investigates and prepares reports as needed.

6. Assists in transporting ill and/or injured students, staff, or others requiring medical attention.
7. Investigate accidents and prepare accident reports.
8. Maintains student accountability.
9. Inform staff and students of unsafe practices and conditions.
10. Provides security gate/desk coverage; ensures that proper check-out and check-in procedures are followed.
11. Performs enforcement duties in accordance with federal law, state statutes, and center rules and regulations to maintain the peace and safety of students and staff.
12. Patrols buildings and grounds to ensure the safety and physical security of buildings and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks, and emergency equipment.
13. Maintains a log of findings and corrective actions taken.
14. Checks identification of personnel seeking entrance to or exit from the grounds and permits or denies entrance or exit according to established policies and procedures.
15. Responds to fire alarms, takes necessary steps to report fires, assists in suppressing fires, and resets alarm equipment.
16. Sets up and checks operation of intrusion alarm systems in buildings as required.
17. Assists staff and law enforcement personnel in controlling disturbances; takes initial reports and conducts preliminary investigation of crimes.
18. Models, mentors, and monitors the positive normative culture of the center.
19. Acts as a responsible custodian for the assigned Center property.
20. Reports violations of unethical behavior.
21. Suggests opportunities for continuous operational improvement and a reduction of waste.
22. Identifies and reports on environmental health and safety concerns.
23. Ability to maintain 75% or higher on employee scorecard.

Position Overview
The Valentis Armed Security Officer (ASO) is responsible to provide armed security services at our client sites, conduct random foot and vehicle patrols in and around the specific site community, and respond to incidents and other situations as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Enforces policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Works closely with Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies.

Records details of patrol, all vessel activity, cargo activity, unauthorized dockings, and breaches of security.
Initiates fire, accident, and loss prevention efforts to include corrective action.

JOB GOAL: To maintain a safe and secure environment on Millcreek Township School District property.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide school safety support services.
Provide enhanced supervision of school buildings and property.
Assist building staff with disruptive students by providing de-escalation, conflict resolution, or a physical escort as determined by the situation.
Coordinate with law enforcement officials, including school police officers and supporting agencies.
Assist in providing safety and security functions which improve and maintain school safety while also enforce school board policy:
Be alert to identify and prevent persons from entering the building or grounds for the purpose of disrupting the educational process and/or committing criminal acts.

Call for assistance from the Security Manager, Building Administrator, or Millcreek Police Department as the situation warrants.
Act as first responder and come to the aide of administrators, faculty members, students, and other safety officers whenever the need arises.
Report complaints or observations of criminal behavior to the Security Manager, the Building Administrator, and in the case of an emergency, contact the Millcreek Police Department.
Assist Building Administrator with facilitating safety drills and monitoring camera systems.

Follow appropriate procedures if a crime against student(s), school personnel, and/or property occurs.

What You'll Do:
Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, participating in emergency response activities within the healthcare location.
