Job Duties
* Lead SecurityOfficer Duties - In the absence of the Lead SecurityOfficer, the Officer with highest service credit will act in this capacity. The Officer will assign work to SecurityOfficers, review daily logs and incident reports for all patrol tours per shift, assist in training personnel, and assist the department in responding to security questions, problems and issues.
* Safety Equipment Inspection - Perform and document safety equipment inspections and maintenance.
* Dispatcher Operations - Operate and monitor computer based fire/security alarm system, radio and telephone communications systems. When notified by these systems, make required notifications for 811 emergency service, severe weather, or other emergencies. Process and update security information either in the form of paperwork of input data into database. Operate switchboard after normal working hours and communicate with company employees, outside callers, vendors, guests, customers, etc.
* Property and Facility Patrol - Tour all company properties and facilities (either by vehicle or foot patrols) and monitor the general welfare and condition of safety/fire equipment, securing doors, machines, lights, office equipment and building status in general. Document surveillance checkpoints. Report unsafe or hazardous conditions and provide assistance when necessary.
* Other Duties / Miscellaneous - Facilitate the controlled access procedures for the company facilities. This will include the escort of guests, contractors and company personnel, the locking and unlocking of controlled access buildings, and the control of parking and traffic. Respond to all incidents and security and fire alarms to access and communicate the need for assistance when necessary. Write summary reports of responses to specific incidents and general patrol activity. Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
* Less than 2 years related experience

* Continued employment as a SecurityOfficer is contingent upon the successful completion of the Company sponsored Medical Emergency Response Team (first aid and CPR certification) and Chemical Emergency Response Team (hazardous materials) training courses.

$18.50/hr
with weekly pay.

Flex Officer Explanation
The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company's operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
Scheduling Expectations
The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex:
You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week's schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you.
For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts for which you are called in, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company.
A SecurityOfficer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The SecurityOfficer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Understand FAA pertinent regulations, airport operations, and layout
* Provide courteous service, directions, or information to the public and others as necessary.
* Observe for security violations, unusual situations, hazardous conditions, and congestion problems.
* Assist with emergency situations, including, but not limited to, an injured person in the terminal and airport security breaches
* Complete all necessary paperwork and related reports concerning assisted events
* Respond in an appropriate manner to all emergency situations by providing first aid/CPR, gathering information, or using the appropriate amount of diplomacy to resolve the situation
* Provide customer service on foot or in a specialty vehicle while continuously monitoring radio traffic

* Responsible for performing a daily check on the PSO vehicle (i.e. no damage, take for maintenance and gas as needed)
* Ensure special assignments and details are completed as requested (e.g., plane counts, perimeter surveillance, escorting duties, etc.)
* Assist with new hires and ongoing incumbent training

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Public Safety Officer/security personnel are responsible for (1) compliance with security access procedures at all assigned areas providing access to the secure area of the airport, (2) enforcement of TSA security regulations specifically related to 49CFR Part 1520,1540, 1542, and airport regulations along with (3) performing duties assigned by the Public Safety Officer Manager, Public Safety Officer Lead, or designee.
The Indianapolis International Airport is locally and nationally recognized for its sustained commitment to the highest level of customer service. The duties of these positions will include assisting and communicating with travelers and guests in circumstances that transcend traditional public safety roles and may be more focused on customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Maintain compliance with all site policies, procedures, and directives
* Assess alarms, investigate, and report suspicious activities and/or circumstances
* Assign or conduct Airport Workers Screening checks and Insider Threat patrols
* Identify safety and/or fire hazards and make recommendations for improvement
* Report degradation, deficiencies, and accidents in accordance with current procedures and take appropriate corrective actions as directed by IAA Public Safety Supervision
* Control access of personnel, vehicles and materials into perimeter roadway area and maintain appropriate log.
* Perform protected vital area and fire watch patrols
* Perform compensatory postings and escort duties as directed by regulations set forth by the TSA, and IAA Public Safety Supervision and in accordance with current procedures and directives.
* Respond to contingency events in accordance with appropriate procedures and as directed by IAA Public Safety Supervision according to the Airport Emergency Plan (security and weather).
* Participate insecurity drills, practical exercises and required training programs as directed
* Maintain periodic qualification of academic requirements including (Access authorization, Airport Emergency Plan, Airfield Operation Area driving certification, etc.)
* Maintain all required qualifications for site access
* Provide courteous service, directions, and information to the public and others as necessary
* Observe for security violations, unusual situations, hazardous conditions and notify law enforcement regarding threats
* Assist with traffic congestion in and around the airport terminal/functions
* Ability to recognize hazardous or dangerous items (weapons, explosives, VBIED) during vehicle inspections.
* Deter security breaches while guarding gates or exit lanes.
* Understand Airport escort rules and regulations
* Ability to recognize unusual behavior

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
* Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing

Required Licenses and Conditions
* Must be at least 18 years old, the minimum age required to possess a FAA security badge

* Must be willing and able to work scheduled twelve-hour shifts, if needed

Patrols and Rounding
